Rich Content Site: To Do Or Not To Do?

Hello Fellow WFers,
I would like to get your feedback on something.
I have been doing my due diligence and did some research on a few niches of interest and I found one that while there is competition, the content on those sites is very amateurish in the majority of cases as I happen to be very well versed and experienced in that field. Now of course I have been pondering what would be the best way for me to capitalize on this. So here is my question to you fellow WFers:

1) Is it worth the effort in time to write about 75-100 articles on that topic to monetize it with adwords?

2) If yes, what would be the better option? A blog or a site?

I have also thought of writting an ebook/guide on that topic, but first I'd like to test the market per say with a site/blog, then the ebook/guide would be the next logical step as currently, there isn't any guide of real quality and value available in the marketplace on that topic.

Awaiting your valuable feedback on this.

Cheers,

Payman.

It is hard to tell. If there competition (I mean people who are trying) is low and a lot of buyers then maybe it would be.

I prefer a website over a blog (personal preference).

I'm a fan of the big rich content sites, especially if you know your stuff and think your site can be much better than the competition. As for whether or not adsense is the best option, it all depends on the niche. Some niches pay more than others. Use the adwords research tool to get estimates of how much keywords cost in your niches and go from there.

    Love,

Use a CMS like Wordpress to create a site with static pages + a blog. When you say blog - many people think of the sites where you are expressing opinions about your breakfeast and such. Blogs can be very useful in your situation. You can regularly publish artilces as Blog Posts as well as build our your "static" pages. Think of the blog as the software tool to build you site but not ncessarily build out the typical "blog" type of site.

Answer to number 1 is yes if you can get enough traffic to the site.

For number 2 I'll tell you what I do. I build a site at the root domian and then put up a blog at that domain/blog I find I get more lucky with my blogs being near the first page of google than my sites. Since my blogs rank better people will find their way to my site from there.
