So I'm new to all this and was wondering what all your top tips are for someone like me, sort of like:
what did you wish you knew when you started out?
what do you look for in a vendor?
what commission do you expect?
how many hops will you expect before a sale etc?
how long will you promote a product before giving up?

Any help would be great!!

Thanks!

    Hi!

When I first started out, I knew that It would be impossible for me to do it all by my self. So I began looking for products to help me out.

after a couple of products, lots of money, and many month, I have finally settled into my own.

If I had to start all over again I would do the following.

    1. Invest in WealthyAffiliate Premium.

Wealth Affiliate in a community of people how are more than willing to help you out. They have amazing training on anything you need and you can always count on feedback on your work.

You will need something like this to quite down all the noise out there, with other marketers promoting to you different products every day.

It does not matter what niche you are in Wealthy Affiliate will help you build a following of people who want to buy things you recommend or buy your own products.

You can also promote Wealthy Affiliate and get around $22 per month per customer. This is vital because without recurring income in your business you always be missing a key component.

    2. Stay focus on ONE thing only.

I made the mistake of trying to move to fast, I would jump form thing to thing, instead of just slowing down and working on what needed to get done. When I joined Wealthy Affiliate I was able to follow step by step and get a new site up and running within 2 weeks!

    Hope that helped

When I found my niche, I spoke with others who were successful in that same niche and also studied what they were doing, their methods, etc. Looking at others in your niche, competitor sites, etc. is a good way to learn.

    Hi there Matt!

I'm pretty new to all this myself and the best advice I've received, and put into practice was to just dive right on in and start trying, testing, buying, paying, listening to pretty much whatever I can.

The best way to get started is....

    To get started.

Just pick a product and 'dive' right in there head first.

    Don't over complicate things.

There is no perfect way to get started.

Pick (1) product that you like and start learning traffic.

Then pick (1) traffic method, learn it. Master it!

    Then go from there.

    For Affiliates:
Best way to find sh*t load of affiliates promoting for you is
by INTERACTING with them. First build relationship with them.
Best approach would be to buy a product of theirs and let them
know how it has helped you or maybe even a testimonial for them.
Like this in future you can get them to promote for your products.

You can also promote their products as an affiliate. These are the
kind of strategies I would deploy in order to build a relationship.

    1. Be good in SEO first.
    2. I look for commission at least 30%. Those vendors offering 10% are just too unattractive.
    3. 1000
    4. No, don't give up once you give up you earn $0.

1.You find a product you want to promote
2.You sign up for their affiliate program
3.You get a special link that allows the merchant to track the people who clicked your link
4.If they buy the product, you get a commission.

      Hi
Why are you able to tie your shoe laces or swim or drive a car? You were taught to do it.
If you want to see Internet marketing as a business, then realize you need to be taught. As is the case with any business Internet Marketing will demand an investment from you. Find an affiliate program with a good mentor and learn from him or her. That way you will save a lot of time and money by not buying a $5 eBook here and a $10 video course there.

Hi Buddies, i'm agree with Rory Singh quote, in addition you can get product at Clickbank, JVZoo, this is the common hub for affiliate in various niche. You can find internet marketing technique for affiliate from WarriorPlus, then pick 1 product, analyze and read the product review, if the product is good then purchase it, learn about traffic method and master it. At the same time, read & discover more knowledge about IM, learn and keep learn.
    Hope this would help

Wish i started in 9th grade. Wish i didn't go to college. Wish i didn't play basketball. They were all distractions.

My basketball coach told my mom that if i dont play basketball, i'm not going to "make it in life".

With malicious intent, i don't tell anyone about my *secret* internet business.

what do you look for in a vendor?
    Good ratings???!?

    what commission do you expect?
    $7. Don't care.

how many hops will you expect before a sale etc?
    50. But that's coming from a highly responsive and trained traffic group: my email list.

how long will you promote a product before giving up?
Probably 2 weeks. Too many niches and products to make to be stuck/attached to one.[/QUOTE]

All of your questions depend highly on the niche you are in.

For example the commission you would expect to earn on a digital product vs a physical product such as an engagement ring as differ considerably and so can the number of hops you would need to send before seeing a sale.

As for what you should look for in a vendor, I look for a reputation, do some research on them before working with them.

If I had my time again I would tell myself to pick a method and go for it 110% and do not move onto the next shiny object that was thrown my way. To many new comers flit from one method or system to another and all this does is line the product creators pockets, not your own.

Invest in a good product and see it through, follow it to the letter and once you are up and running begin to tweek and improve and adapt as required.

    All the best Matt.

what did you wish you knew when you started out?
I wish, I read books on self-discipline and motivation. I wish, I knew what shiny object syndrome is
what do you look for in a vendor?
Nothing special. Quality product or service.
    what commission do you expect?
The more the better. But what matters is conversion.
how long will you promote a product before giving up?
I never give up, I make a decision to stop.
I see no reason to lose time and money, if things go wrong. There are plenty of quality offers.

what did you wish you knew when you started out?
    - that affiliate marketing is a skill which can be learned. Take time to learn the process properly from someone who is already successful in this field. You will need to take consistent action. Don't get distracted by "shiny objects".

what do you look for in a vendor?
    - Reputation - For example check out statistics on returns (available on sites like JV Zoo)
    - Communication - do they answer your questions?
    - Affiliate Tools - do they provide helpul banners and swipes which you can use or adapt?

    what commission do you expect?
-When you promote a product there is always the front end item, then often some upsells, which can include a recurring income subscription, and quite probably a high-ticket back end offer. Some vendors will offer you 100% on the front end, but then keep upsells to themselves or offer a pitiful % on them. Let's face it, it takes as much effort and money to promote a $17 ebook as it does a $997 coaching program. Don't be afraid of promoting high commission items in instances where the vendor is offering a fair commission share.

how many hops will you expect before a sale etc?
    - this will depend on the quality of your traffic. Probably 1 to 3 in 100 is acceptable

how long will you promote a product before giving up?
    - if you pick your product carefully this should not be an issue. Only choose products you have checked out and which give value. Any evergreen product (one which is always in demand) will always get sales, quite often long after you have actively promoted it. However in the unlikely event you've picked a dead duck then learn to move on.

    Hope this helps
