Nothing is free in life. Nothing. There is a cost for everything.

I found a system back in 2007, made a decision to get started at the entry level of $1,500 just to get my foot in the door.

I bought an Ebook by Perry Marshall about how to advertise on Google Adwords for $97 and began writing ads that created traffic.

I made my first $700 from a guy who came in as a lead and even called me to say that he liked the opportunity and was going to get started.

He paid $1,500 to join and I made my first $700 while getting my car's emission test here in Ontario, Canada.

Was this a 'surefire' success story?

No.

Most of you would probably consider this a failure.

Why?

Because it costed me nearly $2,000 to make that first sale.

I consider this a success because it taught me the basics of advertising on a 'mass' scales as well as one really important thing...

When I first came to this industry, I had zero experience. The only thing I knew about back then to make money was my job driving an 18 wheeler rig.

I didn't even know how to copy and paste stuff (my wife taught me).

But I was 'willing' to learn.

If you look at the IM scene, you will see that there are people making money in all "areas" of internet marketing: Adsense sites, CPA, blogging, email marketing, social media, product creation, affiliate marketing, Amazon, Kindle...

Majority of IM business models actually work, but not for everybody. Some people are very successful at list building and email marketing, for example, but can't make a dime with Kindle. And vice versa.

I found some models that could work for almost anyone, although I usually don't discuss them in public, but in general I would say that in my opinion it would be hard to say for sure what could work for you.

Luckily for you, you can browse this forum and find information about many different MMO methods, discuss it with other members and then eventually make a decision what model you will pursuit.

I don't get that. Don't you have to work to be successful (whatever work means).

Making money through a business online is the same as making making money with a business offline. You sell a product to a customer that wants that product for a profitable price.

Sometimes we make it harder than what it is, I think.

I first started making money online by advertising in classified ads on AOL in 1994. I advertised products from my retail store at the time. Built my first website in 1996 showing and talking about products from my retail store. Made money ever since. Since 2013, I'm concentrating on affiliate only sales through that same website.

Find a great product in a market/niche that someone wants.
Show and talk about that product.
Make sales.

Anyways, just my two cents worth.

I made my first money as an affiliate to an anti-aging product. I made a small blog and ranked it in google. Thus strategy still works but it has become tougher.

Then I moved on to higher paying affiliate offers , Amazon kindle , Android app development and so on.

It really is up to you, what you like and what value you can add to the customers. Then it is test test and test. Scaling up what works and discarding what doesn't.

The best way to start making money online is ...

First find a hobby or a niche that you are passionate about and have some knowledge (If you cant think of one then pick one and go learn about it)

Remember people DO NOT buy products they buy SOLUTIONS to a problem they have, all you have to do is give them the solution to a problem.

The cheapest way to start is to promote other people's products this means you don't have to spend time and money producing it.

I personally started with a blog and wrote content that solved problems, you can then add banners relating to similar products and then just drive traffic to your blogs, it does take time but it works.

As you start making money, you can invest in paid traffic to increase your money, and further down the line start producing your own products and sell them.

I would also recommend from day one that you start growing your own list and email subscribers these you can then email with other related others from time to time plus of course your new blogs always giving them great content and never just sell sell sell they will just unsubscribe.

I still make money from selling other peoples products as well as my own, I also sell on Amazon too which could be another avenue for you later on.

I start making money from revenue share i.e. My Paying Ads (MPA). Before this, i have an automated website on diet & weight loss niche, then i advertise that website to MPA and so far i have generate share from this advertise website.

I earned my first paycheck as an affiliate for an online dating site, long before Ebay, Amazon, Clickbank, Paypal, or Google even existed.

I still earn a decent income from selling affiliate products, but earn much more from selling my OWN products and services.

Back then, I just followed the instructions that the affiliate program I joined provided me, which is to an extent what I still do today... only tempered by my experience.

This is the most overlooked aspect of affiliate marketing, this is the problem that you exploit and bring value too! Depending on the niche most users no longer need to be informed, people want solutions. If you can use creativity to tap into this you will make a ton of money in this industry. Stop spending your money on GURUS and take action on a method you are interested in. I suggest starting with building a list [there are a million of other methods but this is free and brings in a residual income.] in a niche you prefer. Create a small resource guide, ebook, pdf etc. and use it as bait to join your email list. Make it a sweet offer that users cant resit to solve there problem. Most importantly make sure its not a 30 page ebook please! EXAMPLE: "10 apps every marketer must have to be successful". Then give them exactly what you said you would, a resource list of 10 apps that every marketer must have! Once their on the list, that's were you make the money using your sales funnel. Marketing simply requires marketers to use creativity and execute a strategy. Build. Measure. Learn. Repeat.

Got my first online sale in college. I was selling a raunchy $16 ebook that i discounted for 50% to a list of 60 people, that were built in 3 days, and woke up to 2 sales. Fell off my chair.

Then got connected to a guy named Collin Almeida, paid $1997 for one of his reprint rights packages, and he gave me the extraterrestrial knowledge.

Period.

My first $1 I made online was when I was 16 years old, that was 12 years ago.

It was a kinda CPA offer where I got paid $1 for every free sign up I sent. It took around 2 weeks to reach the $50 payment threshold and I got all my signups from the old AOL chat rooms, I even had to get my dad to cash my cheques for me

I took a trip to China back in 2002 and saw tons of products that were not in the USA yet. I ended up getting into the bags business and had my supplier ship the bags to me while I took the orders and shipped. What I should have done was allow my supplier to ship directly to my customers but I was so young and not knowing. This idea would still work today, if someone would actually take the trip. Everything is made overseas so anyone can go there, find a product, and create income. Or someone could actually go to China and set up a service there, where other merchants are looking for products and you can find the products for the merchant and deliver. That would require you to work on a percentage basis. All of this can be done from home after the the one time trip!

People think that China is online through sites like Alibaba and Aliexpress but the truth is , you have millions of merchants who can't speak English and their prices are super low....... most of the companies on those sites are brokers and middlemen

I earn my first dollar on eBay many years ago.

Today I still do.

Came across a site called Elance back in 2011 and thought "wow, people are paying other people to do these things that I can do myself. I should join this." I set up a portfolio, started bidding, and on my first day I bid on 4 different projects and was hired for 2 of them. To say I was excited would be an understatement.

I duplicated that same success on similar freelancing platforms. I eventually was making a full-time income from Elance alone in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014 I set up my own website and started marketing it, and I now conduct the majority of business through my own site. The beautiful thing about that is I can now monetize my work in a variety of ways in addition to commissioned projects. Also, the risk of losing my income has been drastically reduced because I own my website, whereas Elance owned my account on their site and could pull the plug at any time.

There are so many ways to earn money online. Content writing, Blogging, Freelancer, Graphic Designer, Web Developer, E-marketting, Adsense. In this regard, if you are a good writter, then i recommend to start Blogging, If you enjoy writing, find a topic you’re passionate about and start a website dedicated to covering that topic and anything else interesting you want to talk about. All you need is a computer, some time, and some energy to consistently write. It can start as a hobby and turn into a business over time. And blog hosting can cost less than $12 per month.

Just wanted to chime in...

The first thing I did was to offer my own graphic design services. I started selling those services on this same forum.

The second thing I did was to barter my services, e.g. if I needed help to install a script or program or anything else I told them I would do graphics for them in exchange for the job I needed done.

I also started networking. I volunteered to help them with graphics, connect them with people, or with anything else they needed.

Finally I started creating my own products.
