I sell primarily on Amazon, where should I focus next?

Hi everyone,

I sell a few private label products on amazon and am happy with how things are going on there. I would like to expand my company further though, as I don't see Amazon as a sustainable system, I am very aware that they are in full control so I want to start seeing some real sales through my website. Currently my website does about 1% or less compared to Amazon.

What would be the best place to focus my efforts to make sales off of Amazon? Would this be paying someone on social media to promote my products (I'm in the supplement market), would this be by starting running ad words or something similar? At the moment my whole business is on Amazon and I feel like I am missing out on a much larger market.

Basically, I would like the next big step I could take, to get my business kicking off on another channel. I have my own website ready to take sales but at the moment I don't get many. I don't mind paying people to get traffic for example social media if this is a good method? I see a lot of people in the supplement industry getting their products marketed by Instagram, Youtube and the like. I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

John.

Are you making a few millions per year on Amazon? If not, then you can push this way further than the level you are at right now...

Now if you want to diversify...Facebook ads, Facebook groups, Youtube, Instagram...Pay for ads in fitness magazines etc.

Have a look at what the other big private label supplement sellers are doing... for example, Dr. Mercola. You can learn a lot by just reverse engineering what your most profitable competitors are doing.

Never be afraid to set up your own affiliate program on your website, and focus on promoting your affiliate program. Remember the affiliate program is what made Amazon, Ebay, Google , what they are today. You can still promote your social media platform and other ideas that you have. I would market my affiliate program to the fullest because this allows others to do the selling for you and not you doing the selling alone.

I have actually been trying to get people interested in this. How would you normally approach this? I have about a list of 1000 customers and a couple people came back saying they would be interested but then I never heard from them again.

Could you give me a few pointers on how a successful affiliate program should work please? How would I tell where sales came from, what kind of reward would the person get and how would I get people interested in this?

        Thanks alot!

Lets start here: postaffiliatepro.com This is the best affiliate software that you can purchase on a budget.

Get acquainted with the software and the company, and ask many questions as you want before purchasing.

I would promote it to the 1000 customers and the way you do it is to promote it as a moneymaking opportunity! When you promote your affiliate program it is an opportunity for others to get in on some of the profits. You can give 10, 15,25 percent of the sales, it all depends on what you want to give up to grow and expand to get new customers. Adding courses and other informational products can also be added to increase sales. Adding courses will be super because you can create them yourself or pay for someone to create them for you .Courses will allow you to maximize your profits in your affiliate program because you can give more percentages of the sale to your affiliates, there is no buying and selling. Great nutritional courses can be made by you or by someone else on fiverr or freelancer. Its a one time payment and you can sell over and over again.

Running FB ads would be another great way to advertise your product as well as seeing if any Facebook group administrators would help promoting your product to their members.

Arrival7 above has a great point in seeing if you can get affiliates to help promote your product for you.

Also, since you didn't mention it in your original post, have you started or tried running PPC ads through Amazon it self? If not, check out this post from the amazing seller website:

Thanks for the response. Yes I sure do run Amazon ads. I sell pretty well on Amazon not in the millions but about half a mill in sales a year. However I have many, many problems with being reported for false claims, fake reviews and the like. This is a major problem with Amazon and I am very aware they are in full control and they can take down anyone at any time (I have been through this and it is not a good place to be!). If this happens again I don't want to be left with nothing. Amazon is great for cash flow, but for a sustainable safe income not so much.

I get quite a bit of profit from Amazon so I do have some cash flow to play with. Is there anyway I can buy my way to more growth? I don't mind spending some cash to get the company higher but I don't want to start throwing money at something that is never going to work.

So, do you sell some stock cheaper to the person that't interested, or does the affiliate put no money in and they just get you someone who will buy from you and take a cut?

Is there anywhere that I can find affiliates?

Are there any guides that do a step through of how the process should look and work?

    Thanks

Banggood seems to be promising. It's relatively new but many affiliates are promoting products from there everyday. It'll make you good sales hopefully
    Hope this helps
