Hello my friend, one piece of advice I can give you is to write down a list of your talents and the things you are good at because it is better to start with passion than with the idea of "getting rich" trust me on this one. Plus it would seem less like work if you go head first concentrating on what natural talents when approaching business or any online opportunity. You will find plenty of super people to help you along the way.

      Hey,arrival7!

      Thanks for the reply!

I can tell that I agree 1000% with what you say,to base my Online Business idea upon something I really like!

Have you had any success so far in implementing this?

Can you refer me to a specific source for starters?

      Thanks again!

      See you around!

Do you like sleeping and eating pizza? If you're passionate about it and build your online business around it, you'll make a lot more money than someone who just wants to get rich and doesn't care about passion.

      Hey,BwanaMkubwa!

      Thanks for the reply!

I have to be honest with you, don't quite understand what you mean.

I get the idea about being passionate about my business, but, sleeping & pizza?

How would you, personally, build an online business around that & make a lot of money, can you please

      be more specific?

Thanks again & see you around!

That was exactly my point. Too many people in the IM scene who drank the cool-aid repeat stupid things like that. Like you shouldn't want to make a lot of money, you should instead focus on what you like and the money will follow...

It seems they are stuck in the beginning stages of being brainwashed by Tony Robbins and his clones. The whole IM scene is saturated with those "pseudo-wisdoms".

How about some common sense instead? How about understanding that just because someone says something that sounds nice and uplifting, doesn't mean it's true?

There are a lot of things you may like or be really good at (hence my sleeping and eating pizza examples) that you'll never be able to monetize no matter how passionate you are about them.

And it's not only my opinion, in case you will only believe me if some authority backs me up. There are plenty of authors who said the same thing (perhaps someone will chime in with their names).

Their advice is totally the opposite: forget about your passion, start doing something that can make money. And when you get really good at it, you'll start enjoying it and it Will become your passion.

Problem is, most people will never get really good at something, will never be the Michael Jordan of their occupation (forget Michael Jordan, they will never even be a Kwame Brown). So they choose instead to listen (and repeat) the stupid "follow your passion and the money will come" mantra.

Do you understand my point now?

Edit: My first post was an attempt at sarcasm. Wasn't a very good one, it appears, or, another possible explanation, you are German.

Coming online can be good and bad if you come into it with the wrong mindset. What normally happens is that you will be consumed with so much information that you will suffer from information overload.

Let me be real with you right now, making money online or starting a business online is not something that is easy. A lot of people and most of the products that you will see online will promise to make you rich overnight, let me burst the bubble and tell you that it is not going to happen. You will have to work really hard and have the determination to keep at it even when you are failing.

There is no easy money online unless you are doing something that is blackhat or illegal which to me does not make any sense. All that stuff is fast money and it's not something that you can build a long term business using.

To make real money online you have to fall in love with taking action. You can read, read and read some more and buy as much products as you like, but if you do not take action on the information you learn you will get nowhere quickly. The only way to learn online is to try and fail until you hit something that works.

The best way to get started online is to find a skill that you are good at that you can sell online. If you are good at writing you can set up a writer's site and market your skills. Or maybe you are good at something else. Figure out what that is and then do it.

Probably you know a lot on some topic. Have you been able to get out of debt? Are you good relationships? Have you been able to lose weight, break bad habits and improve your life? You could use that knowledge and start a blog that sells good affiliate products.

When you build the blog and you build up the traffic you can begin building an email list. To get them to sign up to your list you have to give them a free bribe. After they have signed up you can begin creating a relationship with them.

You want to become their trusted advisor when it comes to getting information on the topic that they care about. Your niche is the target audience that you create good content for. When they trust you and you send them offers they will buy because they like you.

Creating your own products will be profitable for you in the long run because when you own your own product you give yourself the ability to be in full control.

My advice right now would be to simply find a marketable skill that you can sell online, writing, graphic design, video editing, animated movies etc. Find something that you can sell as a skill online.

When you start making good money from this you can create a blog and share about your findings. After that you could create a product that teaches people how to make money from that skill. Later you could create a product that teaches people how to build there own business online using the steps that you used.

Once again the formula online is simple you need these things:

Traffic -- that goes to a ---> Website or Offer---> Capture your visitors--> Build relationships with them---> Market to them over and over.

The biggest thing to understand online is that it is all about creating "VALUE". Many people who want to build businesses online continue to neglect this simple fact. The people that listen to you are the ones that you give the most value to. Making money online is about delivering tremendous value to people that trust you.

    I hope this helps

    Remember take action.

Step 1 - Find a Skill that you can market online

Step 2 - Build a website that showcases your abilities

    Step 3 - Market yourself

    Step 4 - Deliver Value

Step 5 - Create Fans and repeat customers

Now go out there and take action!!!!

    Hey,oppyeaunome!

    Thanks for the reply!

    Wow,nice shot!

As far as implementing the advice you give me,I think it's a very good idea!

Of course, each step has its own sub-steps,but I definitely get the point!

I have researched a lot about making money online & I would say the thing that any Internet business

need the most is traffic, can you give me a few pointers on the subject?

What have you specifically implemented on this particular topic?

Thanks again & see you around!

Online Sync to answer your earlier question about traffic SEO which right now is pretty time consuming to learn, but helps you to understand how to build a website that is search engine and user friendly.

I started out learning about SEO, but have since moved away and now social media sites and online communities is where I'm involved. Basically if you keep giving them good content they will follow you and listen to what you have to say. As you continue to build your influence and more and more people notice you its starts to spread.

All of this creates a snowball effect. I also buy traffic from Facebook and other advertising platforms, but there is more of a science to that.

Too me honestly social media is the future of marketing.

My biggest advice for you would be this:

    Learn to take action!

Sure, you need to do some extensive research once you have an idea or two, but you'll never get anywhere unless you take action and go for it in the end.

I just took some action and registered a new domain name for a project I've been researching for some time now, and it felt great!

oppyeaunome's reply has a lot of good info to keep in mind while you begin your journey making money online.

The biggest thing I would say is to take action and not to get discouraged too quickly. Some people make money online straight away in their journey while it takes others months just to make their first few dollars.

A broad question?I see what you mean.

Affiliate Marketing is a very good way in which I would like to begin making money online.

More specifically, offering products/services from already established brands/people in the industry.

How should I go about that,in your opinion?

There are many ways to make money online.

    What are you good at?

Sell your skills as a freelancer (graphic design, seo, writing...)

Flipping products on eBay, Craiglist, Amazon

    Create your own digital products,

Promote other people's products as an affiliate,

    Coaching... the list goes on.

Start with something that you're already good at.

Monetizing my skills on the Internet is definitely a very good approach!

What I've found through my research,is that generating traffic to a product/service is the most difficult

      task online marketers have.

How do you personally generate your online income?

Can you please provide some advice regarding this?

Are you getting upset? Come on, You started this, not me. You said I was rambling, I had no point, etc. I didn't attack you first, and my sarcasm wasn't even directed at you, for crying out loud.

So here's another actionable advice: you need to be more thick-skinned if you want to make it in business.

        Moving on...

You said you alrady asked me a couple of specific questions that I didn't answer. Well, being a polite guy that I am and being willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, I went back to see whether it was me who was having memory problems... Appears it was not. I really don't see any specific questions that you asked me in previous posts that I failed to answer.

So, let's move on to the questions you asked in This post.

What is it that I do? I want to say none of your business, cause it really isn't, but I'm afraid you'll get upset again. So I'll go ahead and tell you the truth: I do coaching. Really high-level, expensive, one-on-one coaching. The opposite of what IM gurus do, selling their guru wisdom to the masses for $69.99, or whatever it is they charge.

When did I get started? A few years back. Instead of going the typical route that IM people usually choose, I actually spent 10+ years developing skills that would be in demand and allow me to sell my services without any tricky gimmicks.

I spent 10+ years learning, improving stuff I learned, coming up with my own stuff, testing it, and so on... And only then did I start selling my services. Not through lists, social media, affiliates deals and so on. No, I did it one-on-one, through plain old-school selling. I don't need to have a huge sales funnel online, to have thousands of people on my list.

When I coach people, one of the conditions in my upfront contract is that they bring me at least 4 referrals, each of whom is at their level or higher in terms of income. Out of these referrals, about a third become clients. And that's how it works, I'm having the same workload year after year but moving higher and higher in terms of income.

That's, btw, another actionable advice you will probably ignore. Learning to sell well is a huge plus. And not from typical Tony Robbins and Tom Hopkins type bs artists. You have to figure out how to filter out all that nonsense. There are a couple of selling systems that are based in real world and not bs marketing, and if you learn one of those, you have a huge advantage. Not only in business, but in real life, too. You sell all the time, in the broad sense of this word.

Another question you asked is, "How much money have you made online to this day?"

Again, none of your business comes to mind, but remember? - I don't want to get you upset again.

The real problem is, this question is stupid. No matter what I say you may choose not to believe me. And there's no way to prove that I'm tellign the truth, even if I had any inclination to do so.

Btw, do you think this question would ever get an honest answer in the IM scene? If your answer is Yes, then another actionable advice would be to work on developing your bs detector. It's like with girls (where you have to divide the number of guys she slept with by at least 3). Well, in the IM scene you probably have to divide by at least 10 or 20.

Back to your question, about how much money I made online.

I don't really separate what I make into online and offline income, it's almost impossible to do. So let's say, since I don't do all the usual whatever-is-popular-now IM "strategies", that none of my income can truly be considered 100% online. Sure, I communicate with my clients through email, sure I have a couple of sites, and I do use Skype. So, technically that's "online". But, like I said, I don't do the usual IM stuff, so asking about how much you made online in my case would be the same as asking how much money you made over the telephone.

So, to sum up, even though I made a lot of money doing what I do, I can say that I made zero online. Just so that you can feel better.

So there you go, I think I answered all your specific questions, and even provided some actionable advice (get a thick skin, learn to sell well, and most importantly, start working on your bs detector, you are really gonna need it in IM scene).

As for your threat to ignore me, my natural inclination right now is to tell you how really frightened of that I am and to beg you to reconsider, but I won't do that... because I remember how sensitive to sarcasm you are. So, do whatever you want to do.

This is a open forum and if you do not like the answers use the search tab !! you come on here sprouting you want to learn but the questions are more like " how long a bit of string" type questions!!

So here is a question for you
Have you read the rules? because if you had maybe this thread would be in the off topic and not the main board

I will say one thing that the others have not ! learn one thing get good at it and become an authority on it , help others and your cred goes up

I will also ad that the way you act online goes a long way ! so by ignoring a potential customer is not the best start as you learn you will use your Signature to sell your own service so be very careful because if you piss off a Warrior you loose money.

Using the search tab?I can browse topics & research info, but he search tab does not provide advice.

Even if I learn one "thing",become really good at "it",how exactly do I become an authority?

Especially online, would you be so kind as to explain this point more abundantly?

As in real life, there are way too many people that we have to ignore.

Anyone would tell you they'd rather lose a customer if it's not the kind of person they feel comfortable

Yes,it seems that anywhere I look for information on the subject,it always is time consuming.

So,basically, you focus on the Social Networks to generate traffic.

Do you have your own products/services or do you send the traffic to Affiliate Offers?

Do you have any strategies when you apply this,or do you just buy the traffic & that's it?

        Hey,shaunybb!

        Thanks for the reply!

How exactly do I perform the actions you recommended?

-Being myself is obviously very easy

-Build authority, not so much, how do I build authority?

-Not focusing exclusively on the money, got it!

        -Putting the customer first,got it!

-How can I help people?I guess you mean the product/service I will provide is valuable & useful to my

        customers,right?

What I find more challenging,is actually getting the customers to whom I will help first.

        Any recommendations on this?

Thanks again & see you around!

    Hey,BwanaMkubwa!

    Thanks for the reply!

Since it's very clear to anyone reading your last comments that you're definitely not into Internet

Marketing,I have no idea what are you doing here in this forum, instead of going after the next

coaching session which will bring you the big buck$,according to yourself.

I'm not upset or sensitive,as you assume, but you just won't quit with the unnecessarily sarcastic &

cocky attitude,up to the very last line of your comments,I don't think anyone would like that.

What do you wanted me to ask specific questions for if you weren't going to give me the answers

because it's "none of my business"?

All in all,you were not helpful in any way.

You still are rambling, you still have no point,if you think I was "attacking" you,who is the

one getting upset, sensitive, offended & not wanting to accept the truth?

I don't know what your "really high level expensive one on one coaching" is about, but you definitely

need some coaching on how not to be a total jerk!

I was asking for some advice to get started making money online, since you "make a lot of money"

with a different business model, you're not in any way qualified to give anyone any advice on such

topic, why the hell did you even bothered signing up for the forum, let alone trying to lecture me?

    Thanks anyway!

Thank you. Your advice means so much to me. Obviously I am going to totally rethink the way I do business because you just showed me the errors of my ways.

On a serious note, do you not see the difference between arguing with somebody (who is really dense, has no sense of humor, and is actually the one to start the fight in the first place) on a forum and working with paying clients? Or is that too much of a mental effort for you to grasp the distinction?

Don't worry, people I work with tend to be intelligent enough, and as a result they never get the "total jerk" attitude that upset you so much.

And, I just remembered, I thought you were going to ignore me? I mean, you are obviously not very intelligent, you said you failed to grasp the point of what I was saying (even though I tried to make it so simple a 5-year-old would get it), but can you at least be consistent? You said you were going to ignore me, so why don't you start doing it?

In case you forget your resolution to ignore me again, let me make it easier for you, I'll ignore you. So, whatever you write next, I'm not gonna answer, that should stop this useless back-and-forth.

So, have fun trying to learn something from people smarter than you, and let me leave this thread with the last piece of actionable advice for you (which again, you will likely ignore, or claim you didn't get what I was saying)...

Here it is, paraphrasing Kirk Lazarus from Tropic Thunder:

Ease up on the r..ard throttle, buddy!

    1. Be more specific. There are a ton of ways to make money online.
    2. Once you know the method you want to use to make money, it becomes a matter of trial and error.
    3. Take notes of the things that you do, and focus more on the data you get from analytics than you do on reading advice.
    4. You can always look for advice when you hit a wall, or you want to refine an action that you are seeing success in.

So many will tell you to do what you are passionate about or take massive action.

That is truly no guarantee of anything at all. Most people fail at making money online, that's the simple truth. Even those that are passionate and take action! How may people are passionate about something that's just too hard to monetize or takes action that ends up being the wrong action to take? Then there are those that just don't have the budget to stay in the game long enough to figure what does work.

Really it all boils down to a few things. Please feel free to correct me.

    1) You can generate cost effective traffic. In that the cost is low enough that you don't need an optimized funnel to turn a profit. If you do have an optimized funnel that is a plus.

    2) You have a optimized funnel that will turn a profit with higher priced cold traffic.

    3) You have your own high ticket product that is truly cost effective for the buyer and is profitable over time with cold traffic or possible you can monetize the non-buyers in some fashion that makes it profitable, if needed. However, I would ideally want it to be profitable and the monetization of the non-buyers to be a bonus.

That's my 2 cents, feel free to tell me how I am wrong.

I guess the exception would be that you have your own product and can get affiliates / jv partners that can make enough consistent sales.

"I'm interested in using Affiliate Marketing to promote products"
Being more specific would be which product do you want to promote.

i.e. I am considering creating a website called writingiseasy.com to promote grammerly.com to homeschooling parents who have difficulty finding interactive writing curriculum.

      "...which one do you use?"
I sell products through a custom e-commerce system that I have established. Some items I create myself, some I drop ship. Some are resell items that I collect from eBay, Craigslists, pawn shops, etc.

"What exactly do you mean by trial & error? I 'd definitely like to avoid making unnecessary mistakes."
Mistakes are unavoidable. There are no franchise procedures in this line of business. Most of the systems that are available for sale has already been milked dry before the digital ink dries on the PDF.

The only advantages you are going to find, are the ones you discover through your own research and trials.

"How do I get data from analytics? What analytics are you talking about?"
Assuming you are creating a website. You would start with Google Analytics. This will help you see where your viewers are coming from, what keywords are they entering in the search engine, how long they stay, etc. They will help ensure that you don't make unnecessary move or mistakes.

"What's the online business model you follow?"
I follow a modified retail model. I study e-commerce and retail methods for hours on end. I take notes. Keep the info that works, and throw out the info that doesn't. So, fast forward a couple of years later and I create one e-commerce store every month and have it producing income in days.

Spend more time doing that reading, because making money online is an adventure and no two paths, just like people, are alike. Also, a double-minded man is unstable in all of his ways, so you will not see a dramatic improve in Internet Marketing until you COMMIT mentally and with your time and resources.

What I gave you were principles. If you have good foundational principles you can apply them to whatever method you want and succeed

Also, I would recommend finding the PDF versions of "Science of Getting Rich" by Walter Wattles and "The Power of I AM by Dr. Wayne Dyer. Making money is more about exercising your mind than establishing or finding a process.

    Thanks for the reply!

Not being passionate about something that I will not likely be able to monetize.Ok.

    Generate cost effective traffic.Ok.How?

What exactly is an optimized funnel in your opinion?

Higher priced cold traffic. Is that really recommended?

My own hight ticket product. That's gonna take a while. Not doable at the moment.

In what fashion can you monetize the non buyers?

Again, having my own product & jv partners is out of the table right now.

    But definitely easier,once performed.

    Hi,
and welcome to the forum! You might think I am also new to internet marketing due to the amount of posts I have, but I am not! It's just that I recently joined this forum! BTW that's awesome that you are starting internet marketing.

Anyways to answer your question: To enter this whole make money online thing I would recommend you to go to Warriorplus and go to the Marketplace and from there, check for FREE products. There are FREE courses on making money online. You can learn a lot from them and you haven't even spent a cent while doing so.

By the time you read a couple guides, you will be introduced to the idea of:

Affiliate sites: These are sites teaching people something/ on a particular topic. For example, an internet marketing (how to make money online) site while have loads of free info and at the same time will be promoting products through affiliate links. These sites don't need to be about making money online. They could be about dieting or even something completely different. I just used making money online as the niche (topic). Affiliate links are links to products you get from an affiliate network. An example of an affiliate network is Clickbank. I'm sure you have heard of them! When someone purchases through this link the promoter (affiliate) will make a commission. It's usually a percentage. An example of a post with which you could make money is a product review with your affiliate links embedded. With great articles, you can rank up on Google. This is what Internet Marketing/Affiliate Marketing is all about. There are many other ways to make money with affiliate links of course! This is just an example.

Hope I could give you some clarity to this entire "make money online" thing!
Stay awesome dude, you can do it!

arrival7 already gave you a very useful tip: focus on your strengths. So many people are doing stuff because they heard there is "good money to be made" or it is a trend and "everyone does it". Get away from this way of thinking. It leads to mediocre results and not much fun. Test a few things to find in which fields your strengths and passions are (writing, designing, coaching, programming, technical stuff) and only then think about building a business around it.

i also started makin money online using passion and what i am familiar about ... it comes naturally when we wrote the sales copy and people tend to believe it

then i move into other niches as well and also generate money too

for me ..it does not matter ..the most important thing is JUST DO IT

dont think for a second that people will judge you

or how well you are going to do in those niches

just select a few nice strategy that is easy for you to implement and just start

    start with a small blog

    develop trust

    get a mailing list

    offer your products or others

    and scale from there

once you have tasted the first sales..do more research

its a beautiful world if you put effort and faith into it

i wish you the best of luck bro

Try and gather the things you like to do. Look around the forum and see what's interesting for you and try to learn it.

Be open-minded and accept advises from different people. Interact.

Get some coaching sessions if you think that you need them.

Most of us here are mentored and there's nothing wrong with that.

    I wish you luck.
