Best Method to Track Sales/Conversions/Refunds/etc?

What do you guys use to TRACK everything?

Is there a software you recommend, or do Excel it up?

I'm having trouble getting my head around HOW to track sales (daily, monthly, etc), conversions, refunds, WHICH avenue a sale came from, etc.

As you can imagine this can be a huge problem -- especially once things start expanding quickly.

I use statsremote to track my affiliate stats and commissions. It's integrated with a whackload of programs and if they're missing one, you can request it to be included and a day or two later - you're all set to go. It's about $50 a month and it's well worth it imo. There is no limit to how many accounts you can setup in the program and it provides aggregate stats across all the programs, including adsense and more.

Whoa - thanks for the suggestion and pics! This does look nice, I'll research it more to see if it fits my needs!

Try to make the math easy. Figuring out cost, gross, profit, cost per lead, cost per sale, backend conversion rates, lead conversion rates, traffic, etc is easy. You don't need a complicated piece of software to do this for you.

      You're right.
But really -- automation is what I'm really after (should have clarified) that way tracking things in this way isn't dependent upon me putting in all the time, each time. Time is more valuable to me than money, so looking to see what types of solutions others have in place to manage this side of the business (whether it's a piece of software, hiring someone to JUST do this, accountant, etc).

I think if you are promoting affiliate offers, most of those metrics are provided by your affiliate platform, all you have to do is do a simple calculation of your expenditure against your gross income.
If you are selling your own product, then a simple excel sheet will do as well.
For example: Product | Expenses | Sales | Refunds | Gross Profit | Net Profit . You only need formula for your gross and net,

Clickbank is what I use and it's great. but I guess I'm thinking, "big picture" wise -- tracking ALL forms of sales, conversions, refunds, etc. -- from ALL traffic sources (organic, paid, etc).

That seems like a starting point for the Excel spreadsheet... Guess it's a matter of finding an Excel guru who can put it together!
