An optin gift being also a "bonus" gift in the sales letter. Good or Bad?

Hi,
I've been selling an audio lecture series for a while now. I had sold an e-book before in the same niche and so I included the original e-book as a "bonus."

But recently I'm considering using this ebook as an opt-in gift rather than a bonus. I'm confident on this ebook and it has a lot of good info in it. I once worried to use it as an opt in gift because I didn't want to satisfy the potential customer because it already has a lot of answers to their questions. The main difference is if it is an ebook or a audio lecture.I have asked about it here and a lot of the members said not to worry much about it because the higher the quality of the gift, the more of the potential customers will buy your products. So I'm convinced it is a good idea.

Anyway, my question now is if I give away my ebook as an opt in gift, should I get rid of the ebook as a bonus on the sales letter? My sales letter is accessible without opting in so for those who didn't opt in it would be a good bonus.

But for those people who already have the ebook as an optin gift, I'm not sure if I should make a different sales letter without showing the e-book being a gift. I wonder they might feel they are paying extra for the book(?). But I don't really have other "bonus" gifts to add instead of the book though.

Any input is appreciated.

    Hey.

Having bonuses in your sales letter does increase conversions, so I definitely wouldn't get rid of what you have there.

Why not create a whole new product to give away as an opt in gift?

Can you splinter off one or two of the most frequent questions/problems and offer those as your opt-in gift, explaining that it's an excerpt from the larger ebook. give them a quick win, and they'll be much more open to the full package. Like the bite-size samples they offer you in the food court or grocery store. You get a taste of what they offer without filling you up.

They never get you to buy a full meal by giving you a whole sandwich, do they?

Yes. It's not a real *bonus* if you keep it as a bonus on the sales letter. Simply create another ebook that's related to your main product, and then offer that as a bonus - as opposed to how you have it now.

The only way this will have an answer is Test Test and more Testing because no matter what is written on here only you will see the results

If your bonus from the sales page is meaty enough, you could split it and offer as a free bonus only a section of it.
