Trying to set up my sales funnel and autoresponder strategy for affiliate marketing. Here's where I'm stuck:

Say you use an autoresponder to capture emails for your list, and then market to people who opt in for your freebies, and further down the email funnel they buy your affiliate product. You want to send them a thank you email and maybe send them a different offer than what you might want to send to people who didn't buy in the next wave. How is the fact they bought captured for segmenting your list?

I know the affiliate marketing source captures this information to facilitate payments to the vendor and the affiliate, but how does the mailing list in the autoresponder get updated for list segmentation purposes? For example, does ClickBank update my list in Aweber?

No, Clickbank does not update your aweber lists nor send you any customer email information for your affiliate sales. You will need to do any segmenting of your list yourself. You can do this in a couple ways.

You could offer bonuses to your subscribers and tell them to email you when they have bought through your link.

You could, if you have your own server tracking set up, implement conversion tracking with the Clickbank api. You would have to have the whole path being tracked in order to connect the email with the eventual conversion. Most people find this too complicated and just go the first route.

Meanwhile I found this video. Has anyone else seen this? Is anyone else using click bank with Aweber?

If you read what they wrote right above the video, it says this about affiliate sales:

Note: Clickbank only shares the email address of the customer to the seller of the product. If you make a sale as an affiliate, you will not be able to capture customer's email addresses with this integration.

Yes, of course, I saw that. Aweber says it means if someone on your list buys the product some way other then through your affiliate links, then you don't get that commission. Hmmm.

It doesn't make sense that this is not automated in some easy way. Do any of the affiliate product sources tell you which emails buy?

That's not what it means. It means only Clickbank vendor's can get the emails of buyers, not Clickbank affiliates.

As far as other platforms, JVZoo has Getresponse integration for affiliates. I know you're with Aweber and I haven't checked if they've added that. I know when I set it up, it was Getresponse only.

Thank you, JC. That make more sense. I haven't signed up with Aweber yet. Still researching the best solution for me. I'll have to look it Get Response more closely.
