How often do people pay you with eChecks? I received an eCheck payment today, and I have to wait 3-5 days before I can get the money and perform the service. It's inconvenient but I guess it's better than no payment at all.

I won't accept echecks as a form of payment at all, in any of my businesses. Last one I accepted took 8 days to clear...that's too long for me.

In one of my businesses, I sell a custom-made physical product, so once payment is made, the product goes off the market. The product is a hot item during the holiday season, in particular, so having to take it off the market to wait for an echeck to clear is just unrealistic, for me.

I don't understand why anyone today would need to use an echeck. If you don't have a credit card, you have a debit card from your bank...neither of which you need a Paypal account to use. And if you can't pay with instant payment...I dunno...I just don't get it.

I recommend you don't accept checks these days.
    They bounce!
I use PayPal and usually they use the account balance then if
they customer doesn't have enough on the balance they instant
withdraw the rest of the funds from their bank account.
Who ever paid you with e-check probably had is set up like that to pay merchants.

Getting a payment through Paypal is best, looking at a email reminder for a paypal payment feels like you have the money in your hands.

I buy lots of items for myself on ebay and sometimes if the item is above £5 it automatically sets it to echeque unless i change it. Think of all the people that arent very experienced with paypal they simply wont realise what has happened.

I have one customer that doesnt have a debit/credit card hes an article writer and is 72 years old and doesnt understand paypal at all. He pays everytime by echeque and i really dont mind as he is still a regular paying customer.

    kind regards

Paypal is the most convenient way of paying nowadays. I never had problems with and it is so fast and reliable. When echecks are used through paypal it would normally require 4 working days or more. So you should be very careful in doing transactions and involves echecks, try to make sure that it clears before shipping your goods to the buyer.
