How Do You Compete With This?

How do you compete.

We all know there is a lot of people who are selling products or information they have not implemented themselves (Sorry if you are one of them and I offend you, but I had to ask) or know very little about.

I personally believe you have to be successful at something before you teach it to other to make a product, whatever it is.

QUESTION
How do you complete with people who have all the fluff, "Make $1000 each day in your bank account" or "Retire in 3 months" or "Push one button and money will role in" when you offering a real, legit product based on your real experience and success with what you are selling?

    Mukul,

I understand the things that these people say they are offering look very attractive to new comers. BUT, the thing is they are not legit and both you and I know this. Whether it takes new comers a while to figure this out, well thats up to each individual person.

I find the best way to compete is to do the opposite! Be completley honest and down to earth with your potential market. Speak as if you are talking to them face to face and tell them the honest truth. No one likes to be played around with online, its better to tell them the truth from the beginning, you will end up making more sales this way. If you lie, you might make 300 sales out of 1000 people right away. And, if you tell the truth and offer legit products, you may only make 100 sales 1000 people. However, the fact that your product was acutally good will make them trust you and they will continue to purchase off you in the future.

slow and steady wins the race!

    Cheers,
    Emma

Don't worry, most people don't believe these claims. And those who do... well I don't want them as my clients.

Another thought is to just go outside the world of "Make Money". There are hundreds of thousands of topics you could make money on. What are you passionate about outside of making money on the web? What do you do at home when you're not at the computer? Make a course about that and sell it. Then, when you are making 5 figures a month, you won't have to lie about it

I've really been diversifying my portfolio of domains outside the internet marketing world. It's a lot easier to make money outside that world, while applying everything you know from inside the world of IM, especially advanced tactics to make a sale.

I am not worried, I was just reading ad advertisement (related to Google, will not mention the name) and thinking that and wanted to hear others on WF thoughts

Currently all my niches are outside making money (including some 5 figures). Honestly, I am only coming into this IM , since I have explained my method a hundred times on a one on one basis, am passionate about it and thought a product would be easier and people can learn

    Thanks for the great insite.

    Reverse psychology.

"All of the other systems promise you the WORLD... you'll see the scans of checks and Paypal accounts... the truth is, 97% of the people who fall for these things won't make anywhere near those amounts.

With my system, I'm not going to make any ridiculous claims..."

    ... and so on.

If everyone is doing X, be the person doing Y and explain WHY. (No pun intended there )

What I say is competition is good, if you have a product that is good and tested people will see that and see through the people who's product is what i like to call "to good to be true" so its all about branding yourself and not worrying too much about your competition

In my opinion, I find that if you come off saying "I make a ton of cash...you can too...it's insanely easy....why doesn't everyone do this...etc." then it's a huge turn off. Try and come off as "the humble honest guy" in your niche. One thing I like about a few marketers in the MMO niche is that they come off as laid back, not in your face, but still successful...a much better strategy in my opinion.

As others have said, you don't compete with rubbish claims.

In any product or service sector you'll probably get some companies making silly claims. Best just to ignore them and offer a good quality service.

Hosting is a good example of where this happens. There are a lot of hosts who offer "unlimited" disk space and "unlimited" bandwidth for a low amount per month. Of course you will get some good "unlimited" hosts (i.e. HostGator), but since there's no such thing as "unlimited", you do get quite a few low quality hosts offering things like this. It's then a consumer's job to cut through the BS and find a host who offers a high quality service and makes realistic claims.

Consumers may get it wrong sometimes, but that's the way these things work As a website host I've personally had quite a few clients either leave us for other cheaper but lower quality hosts (and then they usually come back to us), or ones who are with a host with quite a lot of downtime (etc) and want to move to us (i.e. a more stable host with a high uptime guarantees)

But yeah, this is just the way things work. Try and ignore competitors who make silly claims and focus on offering a good service/product yourself

I think it's important to sell a real business model instead of a get rich quick scheme many of the current sales copies sound like.. promise the money but tell them what the reality is like as well.. I think if you balance these 2 things people will come to trust you more and be loyal customers in the long run..

If they are truly full of fluff as you say, and don't really know what they're doing, then you aren't competing with these people. They aren't competition at all. The only one's you have to worry about are those who do know what they're doing. Those who don't know will likely never have their offer seen, no matter what it is.

Many here will disagree with this but the sad truth is that what you've described is the nature of the IM beast. One of the most successful IMers of all time loves to talk about how he made his fortune selling products about which he knew nothing.

Your success in IM is not based on what you produce, it's how you sell it. Smart IMers will tell you that your sale letter is about 70% of your product.

Sales & Marketing is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of any business, not just IM.

You also made a good point, notice that the people who teach, teach on many topics, likely with little success or figuring a formula, testing it slightly and them selling it.
