Can I track conversions without access to HTML?

Hi guys,

Not sure if I am on the right path, but have some client on freelancer and we need to track conversions, but we don't have access to HTML neither of sales page nor of thank you page.
He is using Zanox and Clickmeter and every tracking link needs HTML of the pages to past the code.

Any help appreciated.

Why don't you have access to this? They are pages that belong to you or your client, right?

        Hi Boban,

If you explain the situation clearly, and what exactly it is you're looking to keep track of (sales, visitors, opt-ins, etc), then it will be much easier for a fellow warrior to help you with your problem

We need to keep track of conversion, it's booking service, so when someone book a cruise for example, we need to track that.

Is this a CPA offer you're promoting? I don't understand.

If you have 0 access to HTML your only options would be to utilise a service like Propsper, or CPVlab.

Speak with your account manager at your network and have them assist you with this. They will also keep track of your conversions at their end.

If this isn't a CPA offer you're promoting you'll need to be more specific and explain the situation and why you don't have access to the HTML.

            Hope this helped.

So, you want to track affiliate sales? You can probably get some decent info via your affiliate dashboard for whatever network you are using.

You can't track conversions without access to HTML, you may only see what the network provides you (clicks, sales, etc..).

  • At CPA companies you can usually put the tracking code (on most you can) and if ti's like Clickbank and similar you have to ask them to put the tracking code for you.

Have you contacted Clickmeter and Zanox with this question, what did they say?

Sure, waiting for response and in the meantime heard some people are complaining on Zanox support. The guy from Clickmeter provided me great support, but unfortunately for me they cannot do it without pasting the code.

No on CPA networks I can usually put my tracking code and it will show conversions on CPV lab I'm sure it works with other tracking software. Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

You need to use a Postback URL. You would pass a Sub-ID to your Zanox affiliate URL, and then their system will post back the sales details to your Postback URL where you'll want to use their ##zpar0## token in your Postback URL to represent the Sub-ID. Dunno if ClickMeter can do this. I know ClickMagick can. They even have a tutorial on how to do it here:

Unless I am not understanding - you cannot do this without access to these pages.

Sure you can. See the link I posted above about tracking your affiliate sales with postback urls. This works with all major affiliate networks, including Zanox.

you cannot track conversions unless you have page access.. Ask your client to talk to the affiliate company and get the access.. Cheers...

Don't listen to the people telling you that you can't do this. Zanox clearly states that they provide this ability to affiliates and that it will work with external tracking. Listen to what dsiomtw said. I also have not used Clickmeter, I use CPVlab, but any tracking platform should provide conversion tracking through a postback url or you should stop using it and it switch to one of the many options that do.

The client has to own a domain therefore you can track clicks pointing at a checkout page (Google Analytics, etc...).

You'll never track actual sales conversions because the checkout page is obviously on another domain/server that you clearly don't have access.

This is a weird thread considering I've never seen any affiliate network that didn't include their own tracking with an affiliate dashboard. If the client doesn't trust the affiliate network why bother, move on..

There are many reasons to use your own tracking, regardless of trusting the network. Affiliate network tracking by itself provides very limited data. Especially if any paid traffic is used, if you don't use your own tracking you are going to be throwing away a lot of money. Also, as said previously, they can definitely track sales conversions in this instance.

To all the people saying it can't be done you should really learn about postback URLs:

Track Affiliate Sales With Postback URLs

Me and 1000s of other people are doing exactly what the OP wants to do, using ClickMagick or other good click trackers.
