Why did you start internet marketing?

I started with it to earn an additional income. I also found a niche I really enjoy.

Most people who put up this type of thread are trying for for two things

1 to have newbies answer so their signature is seen which is sig spamming
would be shown more

2 getting research for an up coming WSO!

So I would like to asked you as to why you would want to know this ? sorry over the xmas period and a few weeks before this has been asked a lot on the forum.

Because I always wanted to be my time master, in more simple words I just wanted to be my own boss. I believe like most of us...

And yeah I just couldn't stand of the idea that if you want to be successful you need to go to the university, get a steady job with a steady income, just like my parents would say a perfect life...

Well to simply put it. I wanted a job that does not only have a dress code but a very fun and exciting culture in it. Not your usual office buzz but you get to work at home or at a cafe, wherever there is internet. This is what i like about internet marketing.

Cuz i saw internet marketing is a very potential palce for Finantial Freedom!

I wanted to travel and make money. I have a great amount of success and I'm happy that I don't live the normal 9 to 5 life that so many others are bound to. One regret I do have is that I am not hugely active on the Warrior Forum.

I didn't want a boss. I wanted to travel the world and I wanted to make a lot of money no matter where I was so internet marketing it was. It was actually my dad who got me into the industry. He gave me a choice... go to college or partner up with him and start an online marketing career.

I love it! Best choice ever. :-)

Internet is open for everyone and there is of great potentials in internet marketing.

I started being in love with it when I was studying (Journalism and Social Communication). During learning about new media I decided that it will be something that I want to do.

The Internet Marketing Dream...i.e the Ferraris, the Bel Aire mansions, European vacations, Dom Perignon twice a day, Playboy bunnies etc..etc.

Very good question. I can work from anywhere of the globe & I can work at any time. There is no pressure of Boss. So I prefer the Internet marketing. It is really easy to every one. Thanks for asking this question.

It just makes sense. To get paid while your away or at sleep. When I first got started online 6 years ago I was making $450 per day with Google adsense. I did that for a few months. I have never slowed down since...

I wanted a business on the internet because i am super lazy to work a 9-5 for the rest of my life.

I remember telling a rich lady friend of mine years ago that if i could make $100,000 at a secure, guaranteed job... versus.... making a legit $3,000 a month (97% autopilot) with an internet business... i would take the $3k/month internet business.

I dont care about the money in a job. 40 hours is 40 hours. 8 hours at the job everyday, instead of making love whenever i want while i'm at home chillin. Easy decision for me.

I am starting because I want a extra income.I think that is a hard work, but it is importen to find the best ways to promote your site.

I started Internet Marketing because I have a genuine love for something I cannot find any excitement anywhere else.

I wanted to generate an income to be able to pay my student loans and stay at home with my kids.

I heard about some persons who were making up to $100k monthly from Internet marketing and decided to try it out too. However it is not my main source of income even though i have made a decent income from it.

I wanted to work on my own and have the freedom from working at home. It is now 9 years and I still enjoy everything about working online.

Money isn't the first thing. I love to share my knowledge and help people to succeed. Maybe this is why? I should say that I was learning this for some years before I've started to offer my services to others. It's also good for brains, because each time you learn something new and each year brings new chalanges. In general, it's what i love to do.

Was active duty (E-5) with a big family, short on money, needed to supplement our income. Glad I made the choice.

I had a friend who always seemed to have more money than everyone else, at the time I wanted additional income, so I bugged him until I found out what it was.. It was all financial for me

Since I was 5 years old, when people would ask what I wanted to do, that was always my answer -- whatever paid me the most, for doing the least. I never had the typical dreams of being an astronaut, lawyer, scientist, or whatever.

Well, I did want to be a race car driver. That's coming at the end of this year. ;D Gotta get licensed, first.

When I found IM and figured out you can bust your ass up front, and reap the rewards without being forced to actually sit down in front of a computer and trade your time for money, I was hooked.

No looking back.

I started throughout my Masters degree, found an area in Augmented Reality and digital advertising methods that was not tapped so I got into it. Dedicated a lot of time, I'm talking about at least 4 to 6 hours a day, no matter when I was learning and trying new things. Got me to good places. I am now a digital marketer, consult IT labs on revenue model for AI projects and well love every bit of it.

Funny how 80% of the Warriors who have answers the spammers thread will not make any money via the internet and no not being negative that's is from the facts of studies done over the years.

I just enjoyed writing and wanted to do something online for a little extra cash. But the money kept getting bigger and my job kept getting less appealing, so eventually I made the move to a full-time writer. And over time, I learned the power of search optimization and how easy it is to get organic traffic if you put a little bit of time into it...and then here I am 12 years later still doing the same thing for my clients.

But if I had to do it all over again, I would have skipped the clients completely and went directly into affiliate marketing. That's the only place I really messed up...even though taking the "long route" gave me tons of extra knowledge on copywriting, conversions and search optimization.

I'm a stay at home dad so working at nights and not having a desk job is very important to me.

Initially I was interested in the promise of "easy riches."

Then I began experimenting with SEO and (several years ago) started making a reasonable amount of money. After that I took a break from IM.

A couple of years ago I got my Brother (Erny) interested in SEO and he's now making a very good income for a Man his age.

Currently I'm working on my website with a view to making $300,000/year. And it's a real labour of love. : ) I honestly believe that I was born to be a successful Entrepreneur. And the best part for me is empowering and inspiring as many people as humanly possible.

I think my story is a little bit different (or weird) compared with most of the stories here shared.

One year ago I was addicted to a phone game App (Summoners War) and after work I spent the whole day playing and trying to get better and better to the point that I started to search on internet information and guide about the game.

I couldn't find many of the things I was looking for and I was desperate to find the mechanists of the game.

Well, my background is engineering but I just started a PhD in Statistics applied to the Oil and Gas industry. I learnt a lot about statistics so I decided to apply it to the game I was playing in order to find the equations governing the game (because it was a RNG, kind of similar to Final Fantasy).

I needed to document it and since I'm not very organised I though about creating a website and leave there all my analysis.

After 2 months.... guess what? I got many visitors and I didn't even know. I just figured out one day I found Pat Flynn (Smart Passive Income) and I got curious. So I added Google Analytics, and.... wow!! Averaging 500 page views per day.

I went a little bit further and added Adsense, and then..... you can imagine just how the story finished.
Me here, trying to learn more every single day and sharing with you how everything started.

I got tired of punching a clock.
