how would you plan to pay a marketing team in terms of salary n bonuses to get clients to your marketing agency?

    If it's a separate agency, ie you're not employing them, then % of sales.

    Agree on a minimum project price for end clients, so the agency makes a minimum fee they're happy with.

    Who knows how long it'll take to get a client? IMO you should pay for performance, and heavily since they're taking all the risk. And they must cover all their expenses to that point. So 30-50% in my world.

    This will help you set your total price, and realize yup, you are going to have charge more than you thought (probably).

    That's good though--higher prices attract better clients who have deeper pockets, and can afford to do all the other things that need to be done. It helps you automatically qualify prospects.

    Being totally dependent on someone else for leads and closing is a pretty scary situation, though, and one I would not recommend getting into. Yes you can have this going on, but have your own sales process running as well. If the agency vanishes, you don't want to be stuck.

    In my view If you pay them a minimum fixed amount & a target. Pay them a bonus after filling up the target, it would better for you.

    how would you scale up the target, relating that with higher bonuses on %, minimum target to be achieved to get bonuses, and higher salary?

    In my eyes it's almost no different from a collection agency/call center. Like Jason said, pay on performance base. For those employees who exceed the bar consistently month after month... reward them with higher pay and possibly a higher position.
