Can't decide which to choose from....

Hey guys, new to the Warrior Forum and business in general ..somewhat, more specifically internet marketing. I've been doing research on multiple different niches to get into to start and learn as well as make a decent amount of money doing.

The two that I've came down to is both Kindle Publishing and Affiliate Marketing.

I will admit that I am completely clueless when it comes to Affiliate Marketing and I ask for the help from someone with expertise in this area of business.

How can I start?

Should I be an Affiliate or someone who hires Affiliates?

Is it a good way of making a decent passive income each month?

Looking forward to speaking with new people
Thanks!

Can't you do both and use Kindle books as leads to get people to your list? And I hate when people talk about Affiliate Marketing as a business. I'm not aiming that statement at you - but are you going to be one of those people who endlessly pushes every piece of crap out there, or are you going to market a small selection of things you use and believe in? And how will you market them? Through a blog, social media, in person?

There are a lot of people who successfully "do" affiliate marketing, but in the long term, they tend to specialize in a field and almost become the unofficial face of the product they recommend. If you're thinking of the IM world of sending out thousands of emails a week, recommending the latest BSO (some call it "bright shiny object", I call it B** S*** Object) then you will have a lot of work cut out for you!

All this is my opinion and if you choose to ignore it and still become a millionaire, then can I have a loan of a tenner?

    Just as a caution...

Most "affiliates" will do nothing for you, even if they sign up to support you.

So be careful who you admit into your circle.

And as a newbie affiliate yourself, you will have to look and sound different from the herd in order to get the attention of the serious marketers. Running around saying, "My launch is awesome the product is so awesome we are gonna totally CRUSH IT!!! " is the pathetic false enthusiasm noise nearly everyone makes. That's sales turn-off to any serious marketer. And they are the only ones who can really help you, as they have established distribution methods.

If you don't understand what I just said, watch some Shark Tank. The Sharks have access to big distribution channels. The pitch people come in to try and plug their product into those distribution channels through the Sharks. That's what affiliate marketing is.

You have a long journey ahead whatever path you take; this is not an insta-money for no work business. And I'm not saying you necessarily have that mindset. However, I again want to caution you that the road is hard and this is not easier than a job.

Kindle publishing is a good way to go. Whether you decide to get into the fiction or non-fiction area you can outsource the writing cheaply. The real key is in marketing and optimising your book in Amazon. There is plenty of information out there on both bur also a lot of crap so choose wisely.

Kindle Publishing, I feel is easier for beginners.

There is sooo much behind being a successful affiliate marketer and there is even more behind behind a product owner who has affiliates.

with kindle publishing in comes down to mastering these basic steps:

      Creating an eBook

      Market research

      Creating a table of content

      Outsourcing it

      editing it

      formating it

      getting ebook covers

      After Upload

      Testing different covers

      monitoring sales

      Rinse & Repeat

but with affiliate marketing there is basically endless moving piece that need to come together.

I believe there should be a natural progression

so you could start with kindle just to get your hand dirty and to build a list by putting an opt-in form in the eBooks and giving away something for their email.

as you learn more you could evolve into a website where you post content, provide value to people and promote other peoples products,

this would work great because by that time, you would already have a list form your eBook sales, so you could get traffic to that site form your list.

and as time goes by you can develop your own product and sale it to your audience.

Just take your time and have fun

Aim for multiple income streams and there is no reason not to start with the 2 you mentioned. Affiliate marketing can be in any niche....for example being an Amazon affiliate gives you a ton of products to choose from...

        Best of luck,

Which ever one you choose, take some time to really do your research. Go to youtube and type in the questions that you really want to know about affiliate marketing or Kindle Publishing. There are a ton of articles in Google about both subjects. Once you have done your research, start to implement what you have learned, when you get stuck on something, come here at the forum and ask for directions.

I would start with the basics of learning through Google and Looking at videos on Youtube. Best of luck.

You see, The best way to go about this, is to

    1. First build a niche blog around your passion/skill and integrate amazon associate to it. (Affiliate marketing)

    2. As for kindle you might need some research to get a good niche but the two niches that works very well are Erotica and children's books just do your research well.

One of the easiest. Thing to be aware of specially today is seperating yourself from your competion when promoting your affiliate offers.

You can go to a network like clickbank and promote digital product. Your commissions are a lot higher with digital products than promoting physical products simply because of the cost involved with physical products.

If you've "been doing research on multiple different niches" as you say then you have been looking to find a specific topic or subject for your business.

Kindle publishing and affiliate marketing are not niches . . . they are business selling models. There is a huge difference which you need to learn if you want to be a marketer. As others have suggested, once you determine your niche, you can easily participate in both Kindle publishing and affiliate marketing.

The point of doing market research is to find problems, needs and desires of people who are willing to pay for solutions. Once you know the subject of your business, then you can decide what type of selling model you want to employ to provide your paid solution.

I would approach this in a completely different way. Instead of researching what is good and what can make money, you should think about YOU. What are your strengths, weaknesses, skills, passions, talents? What do you have experience with? When you found that, you can think about the method to make money. If you are good at writing, Kindle ebooks are the way to go. But you might have set up websites before, been a custimer of a certain product yourself that has a good affiliate program or are generally good at convincing people, then affiliate marketing might be the better route. The truth is that both Kindle and affiliate marketing can be profitable (as well as the other thousands of possibilities to make money on the internet).

It's a lot easier to start out becoming an affiliate since all of the work to get it set up is done for you.
But, if you have a passion for something where you are an "expert" by which I mean you know enough to create a product, then that's a good way to go. I do both. But, when I started over a decade ago, I focused more on my own products, workshops, and coaching on publishing and platform building.
