My website is up and running almost 1 and a half months now with 11 blog posts. I'm in the computer related niche. My question is what is the best opt in letter that I can provide for my e-mail list. So a give away free computer related e-books and were can I get it or should I send them occasionally free computer related information that is link to my blog posts.

Create a CTA at the end of your blog posts that encourages them to click a button to download your free Ebook. Align this with a strategy that is based on keywords & what your audience wants in terms of content for inside the Ebook.

If you don't already distribute links to your blog posts via Social Media I would recommend doing so.
Capturing. say their email before the download if fine - but make sure your fields are equal to the content they will be receiving. Eg. You can't ask someone to fill out 10 field entries to offer them a 5 page Ebook - because nobody will download it. It sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised the amount of people who make that mistake.
Also it's important to make it clear what people will be receiving in specifics via the landing page. (A bullet list is a good idea.)

I would also say to build a solid content creation strategy with this. Many more blog posts will be required.

OK so I see two things going on here in your post.

First, are you getting enough traffic?

Posting alone doesn't bring traffic. Not a sufficient amount. So you have to go promote your blog and its content in relevant places. Get it in front of your target market.

Second, once people are on your site, how are you engaging them to opt-in?

A popup that appears immediately is very annoying. But one that appears after say 15 or 20 seconds is less so, and effective.

I would not rely solely on an opt-in box in the sidebar. People have banner blindness to those, in my experience. Nice to have, but insufficient.

    Now about your giveaway content.

Don't go with PLR. Not "naked" PLR, anyway, unaltered from its original form. It's so bland; why would anyone want it?

What's YOUR unique spin that you can put on things? You can start with a PLR item, but change it...add to it...make it your own point of view.

What big problem does your target market--your visitors--have that you can solve with this giveaway?

Subscribers can receive your new blog entries after they sign up. That's enticement enough to come back to the site, if the content is good enough.

I don't believe shoveling bland pre-baked PLR at your subscribers is a good idea.

You should write more. As far as the best "opt in letter" goes, just write to them and say something like,

"Hey! Today you can learn how to turn your Firewall on or off
without going to the control panel! Visit below to my blog to learn how!"

Then put in your blog address so that they can click on it.

Then whenever you come up with a new post, do the same thing, except re-word it, and tell them what they're going to learn to do when they visit your blog post.

Thank you for all your input. The question that chyan and discrat ask what specific niche I am in. My website is mostly related to how to fix computers and I also focus on some computer hardware that is Amazon's best sellers. Hope this help a bit.
