Best way to sell a family of websites?

I have several websites that belong to the same niche, with over 80,000 registered users overall.

Now I'm looking into the possibility of selling in order to raise capital for a different project, but I am having a hard time finding the best way to go about it. The selling price would be 5 figures, so it's not something that will garner lots of offers on Flippa. Also, Flippa doesn't have an option to sell multiple websites as a package, and that's the only way the sale makes sense because the sites are interlinked and their individual values drop if they are separated.

I've been looking into website brokers, but there are so many and I can't figure out which ones are reputable.

I've also considered going to the competition and asking whether they would like to buy me out, but they would probably just be after the database of users since they have their own infrastructure already.

Can anyone provide any advice or experiences relevant to this?

You can create an auction for your main site on Flippa and describe the others in the description of the sale. I have seen those types of sales before.

This would be my approach as well. Sell the main site and add in the others
as a "package deal". It would add great value to the listing.

This is what I would also recommend you to do.

I bought 5 websites that were related to each other, a long time ago, from Flippa. Only one of them was listed, and then the other 4 were mentioned in the description. So you can sell multiple sites there - you just have to get creative with it!

This looks pretty professional, I'll give them a ring and see what they say.

Flippa is a pain because, with Flippa, the news will go public quickly and then I'll have to field questions from users every day until the sale. If the broker can contact potential buyers directly without public listings, that would be perfect for me.

As a long time Flippa user, I'm not confident Flippa is the best way to go here, especially with you having a network and since your sites seem to have years of history. So many 'purchasers' there are merely tire kickers and sales busters.

A private sale would be my preference, especially if you are in a niche where those 80K users are a BIG DEAL to the new purchaser. Empire Flippers has already been mentioned, and another broker I would recommend you look at is FE International (Professional Website Broker - FE International).

    Good luck to you!

    Thanks for the input everyone!

I'll be sure to have a chat with brokers first and then I'll consider a Flippa listing.

And yeah, the 80k users would be a big deal here, definitely more valuable than the site infrastructure itself.
