Hi, so I've just heard about this forum...

... and it's awesome. Right now I'm doing SEO for a Magento Extensions company. In the future, however I set my target to become an Amazon Affiliate and gain tons of money. The truth is right now I'm just a sponge and eager to learn. I did my research on Affiliate Program but I want to ask people here, with your own experience, is it hard to achieve a sustainable income through the program?
Thanks in advance!

Is it hard? No. It's not hard at all once you know what you're doing.

Does it take a lot of time to figure out what you're doing? Yes. Most people give up before they get there. Or they try to take every shortcut possible. Or they forget that they're trying to sell stuff to real humans with real thoughts and emotions of their own.

So essentially, there are a thousand ways to mess up an not earn a solid income...and it's your job to learn what's required from A to Z. It will take a lot of time and effort to get there.

    Welcome aboard

I wouldn't say it's hard, you just have to be dedicated and focus on learning a topic. In your case, you made a decision to focus on Amazon, which is a great way to earn a sustainable amount of money online.

I understand what your feeling though. There's just so much knowledge to learn and posts to read but there's only 24 hours in a day. Ah. where to start? Rather than wasting time, start reading! The more you learn, the more you'll earn.

Most affiliate programs are legit. Just stay away from surveys, mlm's, and lottery tickets. If you want you can test some things out with Clickbank and JVzoo. Then eventually Amazon (if you choose to do this).

But i would advise you to get your own website (or blog), and have your own registered custom domain. No piggybacking off of somebody's else's real estate (ex: weebly, blogspot, etc)

Welcome to the forum! Just make sure you learn as much as you can without spending money, because there are TONS of resources and old chat threads here with golden nuggets of value! The war room has some valueable tips on amazon affiliate as well as a million other things, all free for war room members only so i would recommend if you ever spend money here that is one of the first things that will be worth spending money on.

It's also very easy to get distracted by the latest greatest shiny object so watch out for that hehe.

One thing in regards to amazon affiliates, they pay pretty low affiliate percentage but i have heard of plenty of folks making a killing from them, it just take a little work to start getting your website popular etc.

Hope this helps and glad to see new faces around here! CHeers!

It's not hard at all. Just thing of yourself as a normal store where people come and buy stuff from you. As long as you're getting tons of targeted traffic and you're building your list, people will most definitely buy from you and will keep buying from you.

Since you're working on SEO right now, it makes everything simply perfect. Start creating your own content i.e. blogs and videos, SEO optimize our content, create value, build your list and you can start promoting Amazon stuff part time till eventually you can do it full time.

The good thing about you right now is that you know how to create traffic because that's your work. Use that to your advantage. Start making your stuff happen. If you work hard enough and consistently, you'll do extremely well as an Amazon affiliate. You can do some research and check out certain people who are making a living off it just to educate you and paint you a clear picture on what it takes.

    I say...go for it!

First of all, welcome to the game

Earning a decent income with Amazon is very possible to do. Like somebody already mentioned here, anything is easy after you know what you are doing.

You will need to study and learn what you need to learn to make money as an Amazon affiliate (or with Clickbank; JVZoo, etc.)

The thing I most like about being an Amazon affiliate is getting commissions on items I don`t even promote on my blogs, because of the 24 hour cookie and getting credit for anything the buyer purchases. For example, if I have a blog which promotes jewelry, but the buyer decides not to buy any jewelry that day, but instead starts looking at microwave ovens on Amazon and then buys one... I still get my commission.
