I've been on LunarPages for many, many years and they've been pretty good. I've heard nothing but good things about HostGator. GoDaddy, I've heard some bad things. I would probably go with HostGator if I had to pick something right now.

I've heard and seen very bad things about GoDaddy hosting (once seen a server of theirs with 1,400 websites on it; it was so slow it was unbelievable)

HostGator seem a solid host, although watch out for the "unlimited" thing. Obviously there's no such thing, although using perhaps under 5 GB disk space and under 50 GB bandwidth should be fine.

      Hi there Tristan

All I have got with GoDaddy is my domain names, that's the best they do, but I have heard hosting is not their strong point

thanks for the knees up, HostGator is looking a better one to go with

      kish

P.S. I see you are in Cardiff, I go there now and again, I got family up there, would be good to network with you

      Ciao

Look at hostgator.com and do a search for hostgator coupon.

A quick search here produced the following coupon codes...

green, HGC25 and beach not sure if they are good for this
    month or not.

I know they did a have 0.01 cent 30 day trial coupon.

I recommend HostGator. I have been with them for 5 years or so and they offer everything you are looking for.

Stay away from GoDaddy hosting, it is a pain.

Hostgator. I have been with them for about 5 years and never had a problem. Plus they have what you need. Unlimited Space, Unlimited Bandwith and Unlimited Domains. My sites have never gone down that I knew about.

Hi Mike, I have checked the site, I think the Baby package is more what I need....

how easy is it to configure multiple domains? i want to be able to set it all up first and them maybe train someone else to deal with it....

Setting up domains is easy. First I would buy the domain from godaddy and put your hostgator nameservers in to point your domain to hostgator. Then log into hostgator cpanel and click "add on domain" and set up your domain there and password. It is very easy. I then use ftp to upload the websites files. Also you can click fantastico deluxe in cpanel and install all the wordpress blogs you want easily.

I have been using GoDaddy for several years and have seen the complaints but not experienced them myself. Their support has been solid, performance excellent and I have never noticed an outage.

Their control panel is cumbersome; it takes a while to figure out where things are.

Have not used HostGator, it seems to be the IM hosting service of choice. I think they are a few dollar less for similar plans.

For IM I've heard various issues with GoDaddy as well. No matter what provider you use - I would recommend keeping your domain registrations and hosting accounts separate just in case something happens - that way one provider can't hold up your business.
    good luck,

I usually buy my domain names from namecheap then go to hostgator for my hosting. You should be able to use coupon code beach to get a 20% discount on whatever hosting plan you use.

I love HostGator. I've been using it without any trouble for years. Get your domains at GoDaddy but make sure you use a coupon. Do a Google search for "godaddy coupon" and you'll usually save a couple of bucks per domain.

Probably the cheaper option is for a longer subscription, Perhaps a year, perhaps two or three years.

This is more or less standard practice in the hosting industry.

I've had one domain hosted by GoDaddy for several years with no problems. But all of the domains I've added in the last couple years are on one HostGator account that costs me $9.95 a month.

It's super easy to add new domains at HostGator. Just a few clicks on the control panel. It takes me longer to reset the domain server address at GoDaddy than it does to add the new domain at HostGator.

Go with Hostgator, I have a couple reseller packages with them and only had a single problem which was resolved in minutes. Best value for your money!

Oh, and if you go with them, use the coupon code "Wordpress" or "Jury" to get that $0.01 first month offer.

When you pay every month, it'll be $9.95/month. When you pay yearly, it'll come out to $7.95/month.

I've used WebHSP since 2003 (It was Ventures Online back then) and have NEVER had downtime. I am a freelance PHP/MySQL developer by day and I switched to them after another provider left me stranded for a week. As a developer, I push them pretty hard and they just work. Tech support is quick to respond if you have questions. You can go with a "reseller" account and get a great monthly rate for the bandwidth/space you get.

    Just my $0.02.

HG for hosting - I have never had any problems with them and their customer service is very good. I do use Go Daddy to buy my domains as I prefer to keep my domains and hosting separate.
