Quirky ideas for promoting Amazon product in the Beauty category

Does anyone have any really good ideas for promoting beauty products on Amazon other than the standard Pinterest or other social media and building an email list?

Looking for any quirky ideas in this niche and opportunities for stimulate reviews.

Cheers

If they are like all natural and from NZ, or just from NZ, you could play off
NZ stereotypes (for the US market anyway). The accent, kiwis, rugby,
dangerous animals....Quirky and fun. A tag line like - after all, it's from
    New Zealand.

Quirky beauty tips: like how Preperation H is also good for the treatment of bags
under the eyes. Or a feminine hygiene product is also good as hand and foot softener.
(I lost track of the woman who used it that way and don't know what product.)
Did you that you can also use our _______ for getting rid of crows feet.... (said in a
    fun way).

Also, sponsoring good, reciprocating charities. (See Anita Roddick and the Body Works.)

Poke around at publicity and free publicity.

I have had great success by using "As Used By Claude Whitacre" as a slogan

Actually I lied, it fell flat on it's face, like he does... often

But all "I'm not joking" aside, a lot of celebrities endorse products so that's an angle you could look at.

        Without Social Media? Why?

Probably the easiest way to rank you product quickly is to do this:

You do a Facebook Ad that says : Hey, are you interested in getting X for FREE?

Then you actually send them the product for free. Yes you will loose inventory by doing this, but YES, your rankings are going to improve a lot also.

The amazon algorithm works in a way that the more people buy your product, the more your rankings will improve, so why not give 100 units for free? Beauty products are usually really cheap so you won't spend a lot of money by doing this, and then because they received a free product, they will most likely leave good reviews...Assuming the product is good.

Have you thought of making a blog or website and ranking that high on Google?

Are you talking about your books or concoctions, or both?

You could use conventional means with an unconventional niche.

      > Maybe cash in on the Bruce/Caitlin Jenner news with a line of content on beauty products for transgender persons.

      > Or, continuing in the gender bender vein, maybe cover beauty products for cross dressers and drag queens.

      > ???

As has already been said you can give out some products to bump up the rankings a little. Or you can sell it discounted if you do not want to lose money.

But you should have a blog site or somewhere where you have an audience to promote the product to.

If the beauty product is generic for example argan oil you will be competing against the big boys who can undercut you. So I hope the product is a little more complex.

I wish you the best of luck.
