You can look for opportunities on various freelance sites like Upwork, etc. Maybe you could make some money as a freelancer. Creating a simple blog or site to showcase your talents may be a good idea too.

You need to market yourself and services. Get your own site. Get on Youtube. Participate in social media. And learn how to market services - not products online. At the end of the day... marketing is marketing is marketing.

Free lance is a good start, you can also build a beautiful wordpress website for free, I built my when on youtube one day and seen this video "how to build a wordpress website 2016" the free part is it doesn't cost you anything to build a site that would normally cost thousands for someone to build it but you do need your own hosting and domain name. Also do like the gent above said and do some youtube videos and join some social networks and be active.

You're definitely not going to make that kind of income from freelancing in 2016.

Just implement what you know. There are people out there who will hire you. Once you build experience and your current skill set gets better, you can even charge more.

How would you market yourself? I would say since you're dealing with music, then you're gonna have to put out some samples. Have yourself a blog and a youtube channel just to show samples of your work and at the same time, people will get to see who you are, how good you are and when you get steady traffic, you wouldn't even need to market yourself as much because there will be tons of people sharing your stuff.

I'd say you start out as a freelancer, check out Upwork or maybe even fiverr. That way, you're making money to start for your own career. You'll have a budget to start what you dream of making into reality. It doesn't have to be permanent. What's important is just you have fresh cash flow daily while you're building your music side.

Then start a blog, a soundcloud acct and a youtube channel and just get your work out there. Develop a presence on social media as well. Facebook and YouTube being the most important. I'd also recommend Instagram. You can then set up various services or even sell products on your site. People just need to see what you have to offer first.

Just be consistent and you never know. Keep growing your skills, knowledge and work hard at it. You're the key to achieving your 100K for this year. No one else can do it for you but yourself. So work hard on yourself if you want to make that a reality.

I got friends who are rappers. I gave them the same exact advice. They're not super big...yet, but they do have a solid fan base. One thing they never did before was leverage the potential of the internet.

I would personally do both. Obviously it depends on your current situation. If you have a full-time job, then I would recommend starting your own website. If you can do this full-time, then I would freelance in the meantime while I'm building my website because it will take money, time and effort to do so.

If you work hard on the knowledge and applying, you can make great things happen in 90 days. So my suggestion to freelance is just temporary. It's just to jumpstart your main business. Just use your skills to gain even more experience, knowledge and get better at your craft while getting paid. Then you can use your income to build your own blog, shoot videos and boost your posts on FB so you can start gaining a following. For this to happen btw, you need consistent content. Since you're in the music/rap niche, search DeStorm Power on YouTube and listen to his Draw My Life. That should inspire you and give you a road map with realistic expectations on what it takes to make it happen.

Create a Udemy course that teach people how to create music and mix music you can earn quite a sum of money. $100-200 is really not enough to do anything. I would recommend you to start out on Udemy and earn some profit first then use the profit to make more money.

Unfortunately there are plenty of sound techs out there struggling for work.

They don't know how to market themselves, either.

If you can develop a reputation in a niche, you may start getting referrals. But that's a ways off.

That's the first question you have to answer.

Me, I would ignore the music production topic unless I could mix it in as part of the fulfillment of what I do...great if you can fit in "fun time" to your business, but otherwise you're up against a huge crowd of competitors and when that happens prices fall ie. you don't get paid anything.

If you absolutely must offer that service as your main revenue generator, find other already successful music production techs who get their business online, and carefully look at what they're doing. You can mimic them. But that's a tough road IMO--I would find something else to focus on.

I think you can just open a simple web page in which you put some demo of your beats. Then, with a Facebook fan page(very easy to create) you can promote your music skills, beat creation for a minimum amount of $. For example for 15$ around 90.000 persons in your zone of interest will know for your services and definitely some will buy.

If you are not able to get a ln ecommerce site, you can make it more local. Market only in the zone where you live and let others know your contact.

Oor, you can use youtube to market this skills by uploading videos teaching others to create beats and to use apps for making this(cube ace or any other app that u use). Then you can add adsense to those videos so you can earn per views.

But at the end, you drffinitely NEED someone with marketing skills(a friend or you can hire someone online) or you can try to learn the basics and go on.
