Trailing Slashes Problem in URLs. Please Help.

I have been providing High-PR Backlinks service for a long time. Recently a client placed an order with a special instruction that there should not be a trailing slash in the url.

Well, for the last one week I have tried so many sites, but all of them tend to append a trailing slash ("/") to the url, and so even if I submit my url as "http://www.domain.com", it becomes "http://www.domain.com/".

Is there any way out, please?

The trailing slash is a needed componant of the URL.

If you type in the URL without the "/" a second request will automatically be made to the server in order to serve up the website.

You don't have a problem with trailing slashes, you have a problem with a client that doesn't understand the system.
