If there would be a news broadcast like CNN... then what would you like to know on a daily basis about IM Market News?

If you're repeating news, then all you need are:

    > google alerts for source material
    > the ability to rewrite articles quickly

    and optionally:
    > the ability to make brief high quality videos quickly (if you want to make studio Breaking News vids).

The question of "What is news?" is an editorial one you must make. I'm sure data will give you trends over time, so you can make a better selection of topics, ie. the audience is more interested in hardware releases than conversion optimization.

If you wanted to make it really easy, simply syndicate existing content and wrap some of your branding around it. That could be 100% automated...but not unique.

What's your goal with the site?

With the dissolution of effective journalism caused by not the freelancer but by the bystander with a smartphone there is a dilemma as to what you would report.

Most IM news tends to revolve around launches and earnings.

Things like Muncheye MunchEye – I.M. Product Launch Calendar

If you are trying to differentiate in the IM space then you would need to be ahead of the game and also not get into reviews that were generating affiliate income.

You would have to go against the trend of BS promotion for $$$ and become a trusted source that "DIDN'T" sell out.

You could promote daily EPC for various offers

    Announce launches etc...

...but if you are getting paid to report those things then you somewhat join the rabble that are all doing the same thing.

    Be different, unique, transparent.

    Keep it fresh.

    Permit no spam.

I'd have no interest in "IM News" because it would be more of the same - promotion after promotion. If you aren't promoting/advertising/selling...there's not much "news" to IM.

Well I guess you could talk about conversion optimization, split testing results.

Those take time and expertise though.

Yes, it would be much easier to talk about upcoming releases, gossip, results of this or that.

Yes most would shun "real work"

          As an aside...

On the eve of Australia Day it was great to hear of the story of two young guys who decided to start a service to wash "Homeless people's clothing"

Two people were named as the Young Australian of the Year for the first time in the history of the awards.

Best mates Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett, of Brisbane, were jointly awarded the honour at a ceremony in Canberra.

The 21-year-olds have been helping the homeless since 2014 with their Orange Sky Laundry

They fitted out an old van as a free mobile laundry.

The world-first idea has since grown to five vans in five Australian cities, run by more than 270 volunteers.

Battling heavy rain which descended on the nation's capital just as the event was started, Mr Patchett said every night 105,000 Australians were homeless.

"They do not have a safe, quiet and particularly tonight, a dry place to sleep," he said.

"They do not have a basic human right.

          Clean clothes and conversation.

"Orange Sky Laundry started as a simple idea from us two regular blokes from Brisbane.

"We wanted to wash and dry clothes for free. But after 70,000 kilos of washing, over 15,000 volunteering hours across six services in Australia, we realised it is so much more."

Australia Day: Australian of the Year 2016, Young Australian, Senior Australian

          The words that resonated were...

          "Clean Clothes and Conversation"

What if anything??? when you are considering providing a service to IMers could come close to that "Vision"

When you can get the "Vision" in place that gives value to the prospect you will achieve great things.

As for promoting IM....what is your "USP" ???

Did you check out the OP's sig site? I did -slow loading and navigation does not seem to work too well - but the popups do. There seems to be a good amt of info - but couldn't access it to see what it is. May be my connection.

Even better, what if there was a show copying MSNBC's "American Greed."

Each week showcasing the rise and fall of someone within the IM world. Would probably be entertaining, and depressing at the same time.

Well if you've ever heard of the Direct Marketing Association magazine, then it would basically cover some of the things in the offline marketing world - but more so focused on the online marketing aspects of things.
