What do affiliates want?

As an affiliate what are your pros and cons of whats offered to you?

I come from a different side of affiliate programs, so I am curious what the mainstream affiliate wants to in exchange for his traffic. Thanks

    Eeeeaasy money.

    And that means...

    > statistics that back up your claims of how "AWESOME!" your product is, and how you are going to "CRUSH IT! DD"

    > demonstration that you know what you're talking about, and have some experience...this comes from what you SAY, the words you use (HINT: if you sound like the above, you come across like a newb--eww, gross)

    > some semblance of a marketing funnel, ie. email swipes, affiliate signup page, understanding of your product's USP.

    Talk is cheap.

Enthusiasm is mostly false and misleading.

Show the affiliate you're serious...by the words and methods you use.

As an affiliate I look for vendors who show proven conversion stats either by screenshot or video, a solid sales page, and a nice payout.

One time commission or recurring, which is preferred? What are typical commissions, 30-40-50%?

reoccuring commissions are awesome. Depending on the product, normally around 50%.

Again it all depends on the product, cost to customer, ease to promote, niche, etc

Your questions are so generic, and the information you give us about your products are non-existent, that it would be impossible to get a satisfactory answer.

To get answers that would please you, you must first:

      1. Tell us what product or service you're offering. Is it digital (like e-books) or is it physical? Or maybe it's a service. E-books typically have high commission rates (50%-75%), services smaller (I think, I'm not sure) and physical products even smaller.

      2. Tell us who your target demographics are and possibly your niche (I understand if you don't want to, but understand that's an important aspect nonetheless.). People selling IM courses want a totally different sales page than those selling fishing advice.

      3. Tell us how expensive your product or service is. For some, it's better to get 25% out of a $499 sale than 75% out of a $47 sale. Sure, some would say the cheaper product/service tends to sell more, but it's not always the case, and some affiliates are after bigger amounts of money made per sale.

Without first elucidating these mysteries, you will continue getting generic answers. And you can't blame the people giving them, since they know nothing about your offer.

High commission rate like 40%-60%. No one want to promote product that offer 10%-30% commission rate. It is just waste of time.

    Personally I like offers that:

    - Actually deliver on every promise being made on the sales page
    - High converting
    - Recurring/upsells
    - Instant Commissions
    - High Commissions (50%+)

The most important thing is a well converting sales page. The vendor needs to split test, split test and split test. If I feel there has been no thought nor testing, I will definitely not send any traffic.

As an affiliate it would be great to see:

    1) A strong sales page
    2) Marketing tools and content
3, if possible)... recurring monthly revenue

That's it really. Basically give me your tools so that i can help you and me make money together.
