Do you think people like Mark Zuckerberg, Jack Dorsey etc. are also internet marketers too also?

I'm very jealous of them to be honest.

Also, do you have big goals like them?

And what makes us internet marketer if they are not internet marketers to you?

I develop/sell software just on the internet, I make money from the internet and they make money from the internet too, they are computer programmers too. What makes us different than them in your opinion?

They are not internet marketers just because they have a company and they are CEOs?

    Yeah Mark gets on Bing every morning before 8 and does a little PPC to boost Conversions for Facebook...Iam certain of that

    They are the trail blazers for our industry. A lot of what we do is like leeching off their success (using Facebook for teespring for example) but I believe most IM's when they get to a certain level of experience and expertise will create something unique and powerful.

    Perhaps this won't be quite as big as Facebook, but if you dream big and work hard you never know!

    I personally see guys like this as the ultimate Internet marketers. They've gotten rich (and made others wealthy as well) by marketing on the Internet.

    There really is no difference in what FB does and what Joe Warrior does when he puts ads on his site because FB primary income is through advertisements. The only difference is scale.

    I think there would be more success stories around here if people got out of the WSO mentality and started thinking bigger and started running things like a real business. There are too many people that go crazy not knowing if there is an upsell to a $7 product or people asking if they need a website or anymore investment is needed or do the riches just come automatically. People like the Google guys, Jeff Bezos, etc. didn't think this way which is why they are rich.

      Ummm....nope. The huge difference is programming savvy and having an innovative idea. Joe Warrior by and large does not have that . You are just kidding the newbies. Facebook may run ads but its their social app that made them successful doing that not simply scaling what the average Joe Marketer does, The differences are HUGE.

      You are 100% right and I agree with you. I am thinking bigger these days, I was not like that in the past but the past is past, we can't change the past, we can only learn from it. And I don't think I would want to have a very big project like facebook, I guess. But I definitely want to make bigger projects than my current projects.

      My ultimate and "biggest" goal was to develop some internet marketing tools which works on desktop at the time because I am an IMer too.. Hahahaha can you believe that? What a big goal huh? I was thinking very small as you see. Now I'm really able to develop these projects, but these are not big projects, not even close.

    To understand if they are internet marketers or not read their biographies.

    They were highly skilled, geniuses even.

    They found a need and filled it in the right time and place.

    They got the right people together and got the funding they needed.

    Don't be jealous of them.

    Be happy for them and model their success.

    Stop wasting your time being jealous and watching other people that don't know you exist and go out and create something for yourself.

    One thing is for sure, Facebook wasn't an overnight success. Myspace and Friendster were there and were very popular when Facebook was created. Mark didn't even realize that Facebook will soon outsmart Myspace and Friendster to become this big second only to Google in world web ranking as it was originally created to only connect his school mates. Mark Z was a budding internet marketer who has passion in his work and does things differently. The creation of walls, shares, likes and other special features sealed Myspace/Friendster's fate and other social media at that time. Technically, Mark Z is a normal internet marketer like anyone else here, the only difference is the degree of passion, dedication, how things being done differently, and sometimes good timing.

    LOL... perhaps he did start out that way, who knows?

    I wouldn't say that you can't be an internet marketer *and* a CEO... an internet marketer is just an online sales master!

    Doesn't mean you have to be a solo entrepreneur or anything

    Do I envy him? Yeah of course, but at the same time, he sure as hell isn't living the 'laptop lifestyle' with no stress and a lot of autopilot income most of the people I work with dream about, haha

      NO I think those guys hire people to do marketing, marketing teams ect.... They do not have time for internet marketing. When you reach a certain level , EVERYTHING is outsourced.

    I think he's different, from my understanding, he started Facebook and they didn't worry about ads or making money at first.. it sounds like he started it out of passion (or something else) and not designed for profit. When I think of an internet marketer, I think of someone typically thinking about money first, then the product.
