I dislike the favicon

INTERNET MARKETING

I posted this plea for help in the programming forum, but as yet have had no response..maybe someone here knows the answer?

I recently changed my hosting back to hostgator and having done so, I am becoming increasingly irritated by the hostgator favicon which appears on all my html pages outside of my wordpress site.

ie external landing pages and sales pages.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to find and replace this little gator.

You should be able to solve this through hostgator support if they're hosting your sales pages and landing pages. You can chat with them online and they'll help you through. You can also call them. It should be a quick fix.

The problem is html pages outside of wordpress..... so I don't think a plugin will work for these .. Hostgator support .well! I have been trying, lets just say that.

Update: Problem fixed - Talk about none so blind as those who won't see lol ...... staring me in the face all the time, I searched the root directory countless times ..just didn't see it

.deleted the offending favicon and uploaded my own.

For anyone else who sees this, you simply put:

<link rel="icon" type="image/png" href="http://example.com/myicon.png">

And you can find really nice, free and cheap, favicons and small images on https://www.iconfinder.com/

Nowadays I would use css or the plugin I mentioned. Also, many custom themes have an option for the favicon in their settings.
