Digital Product Delivery Question

Hi.

So I just signed up with Send Owl and spent about the past three hours getting everything ready to go. I have one product in a zip file.

I was looking for an easy way to deliver my digital products to my customers and Send Owl seemed to fit the bill.

But, I'm having an issue with their branding. I was told before I signed up that I could easily pull their branding off of emails and pop-up windows, but I'm finding that's not the case. Or, if it is, it's not easy to figure out how to do it. And their logo is on everything. Seriously, I'm surprised they didn't stamp it on the front of my product!

So, I'm now thinking maybe I should try a different option for delivering my product. I have a wordpress site with a built in shopping cart. I use paypal for payments.

Should I try another cart option? Is there something out there that will let me use my own branding and make it an easy order process for my customers?

I'm not a techie in any sense of the word, so I would need to switch to something simple.

I've thought about maybe using dropbox, but I don't know how files are fetched or protected.

Thanks for your ideas!

So...you knew the branding was there before you bought...you knew there was a way to remove it before you bought...and now because after a short time you can't figure it out you want to change your vendor??

Please don't buy anything from me!!

With EVERY app you buy, ever, you are going to have to learn their syntax. That's because you didn't design the software and their programmer did. And their programmer thinks differently than you do.

So the problem is finding out where they explain the syntax of how to make this branding change.

Did you put in a support ticket? They have a system under "Contact Us".

Look, I don't know Send Owl, and within 5 minutes found Customisations - SendOwl Knowledge Base

and for PDF stampings Advanced - SendOwl Knowledge Base

You are going to find this kind of issue over and over, with any product you buy. So you'd better get the idea of how to solve it now, because it's going to keep coming up...and the method for finding the solution is always similar.

      Hi Jason.

Thank you for your response. Yes, I did put in a support ticket, and got a response regarding the branding. They told me I would need to change the CSS. I don't know how to do that, and the link they gave me to do it goes to a place where it's easy to change the color, but for the the CSS there's just a box with nothing in it. I wouldn't even know where to start.

I'm a seller, not a coder. In all their ads and in their pre-sales emails to me they said it was EASY to customize EVERYTHING. Well, I'm frustrated. What can I say?

The only solution I can think of if I continue to use Send Owl is to hire a programmer/developer to take care of this. Not what I had in mind for an EASY solution.

I'm seriously thinking of just finding a storage solution for my digital files (other than AS3 which I also couldn't make heads or tails of) and using the shopping cart that's built into my website. At least then I won't have the branding issue.

You could pay somebody on Fiverr to help you with the CSS issue.

Short answer: It's probably the stuff on this page https://help.sendowl.com/help/articl...customisations
Is it Wordpress you're working in?

Long answer: The Simple Custom CSS plugin will let you do this (as will the location they've previously told you to use). Just install the plugin, then go to its settings under Appearance in the main Wordpress menu, and paste in the CSS.

Ask them for the CSS code to use--you'll have to drop in your own file location for the branding icon, but the coding should be generic as I'm sure they're asked this many times a week.

If not Wordpress then let us know what you are using.

I can appreciate how a lot of this stuff can make your eyes cross. That's a signal you need to learn something. The key is learning the definitions of what you're working with. This is your business now. If you were becoming a mechanic you would have to learn all of those tools and terminology. Same here.

Now you could go back to Send Owl and remind them they said it would be easy. And it should be easy--this is an option a coder could quickly make an option in the Customization menu for, where you as the user simply upload the graphics files of the new logos.

          Hi everyone.

          Yes, I'm using Wordpress.

No, I'm not a coder, never will be. I look up little things in Google from time to time that I need to do - like changing one line of code for a button image or getting a button centered on a page, but that's the extent of it for me. I have zero interest in coding, and I feel my time is better spent on creating and marketing my products and building my list.

Jason - thank you for your helpful reply. I'll see what I can do with this. They brand the emails too with their branding. I don't think I can change that. And I don't mean a quiet logo hiding in the shadows like I've seen infusionsoft do. I'm talking about a big, in your face kind of logo (ok, it's a cute owl, but still...).

            Hey everyone.

Just wanted to post an update. I've solved my digital product delivery issue!

I'm now using Ejunkie and so far it's great! I had a little trouble getting the cart button code to work with my instabuilder installation at first because I wasn't sure what code to delete so I could use my custom button, but I sent an email to ejunkie support and they responded within a couple of hours with the solution. And it worked!

I was able to upload my logo to Ejunkie just like uploading a product, and they automatically add it to the emails and screens my customers see and receive. No CSS needed!

My logo was too big, originally, for Ejunkie, but I quickly fixed that problem over on Canva.com.

The only place I see Ejunkie's name is in my browser on the shopping cart page (which is fine since it's part of the url), and at the top of the download page - but it's just their name, no logo. Nothing big that detracts from my logo/header.

I'm so thrilled I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am! And Ejunkie is (at least while I have so few products) half the price I would have paid with Send Owl. And it works pretty much identically to the way Send Owl works too!

I have been dealing with this issue of finding a delivery platform for several months. Everything was either too technical, too expensive, or it didn't have the features I needed.

Ejunkie fits the bill perfectly for me!

I hope my post will help someone else here looking for an answer!

LEARN how to do it. There are no easy damn solutions.

Or, use a product delivery system like JVZoo or WarriorPlus.

Either way, you're not going to walk in the door knowing how to do whatever it is you want to do.

Has this issue affected your sales? Why not just send people to a download page? But like Lisa said, learn how to do the simple coding, or pay to have someone do it for you.
