The Top 8 Marketing Trends for 2016

Of course the fundamental principles of online marketing never change. But the methods, tactics, and strategies "that work" is constantly evolving. Along with new terminology, tools and software.

Here's a short but powerful list of trends that will evolve further in the coming year. Many could give you a much needed competitive edge. Especially if your competitors are ignoring them or still stuck in the stone age.

Which are you focusing on, which are you ignoring. What did they miss that you're focusing on instead.

I'm focusing more on improving #1, #3 and #4.

The rest doesn't apply that much to my business model, but they may yours.

I hate people who make internet marketing sound so hard. Seems like it was this person's intent to look "smart". But nevertheless... marketing via watches seems like something that could be interesting. Seems like it might be something useful for just generating leads. Agree? No? Comments?

I agree he could have made it simpler. But he's a CEO, not a writer par se'. He probably worked extra hard to make it that simple. His first draft probably looked like a PHD thesis.

Plus, I think he was just writing for his audience, which is college educated marketing people who head departments.

But the trends he speaks on is real. Google, Ebay, Amazon and other Alpha online companies have him on speed dial. So, he's worth at least hearing then deciding if you agree or disagree with his thoughts based on your personal findings or test.

Not sure how well marketing "on" the wrist phone will work, but marketing "to" people with them is definitely a coming attraction.

        Love me #1 about Content.

And more particularly how Quality Content will be more and more relevant as Google and Facebook develop algos that actually can start looking at the Content itself and really read the 'quality',

        Like headlines that Bait.

Iam sure there will be someday when these Algos can comprehend the actual Content within and decide if is PHD. material or just crap jargon

I agree with you randall. Reading that i was just thinking to myself.... "this isn't needed at all!"
I could tell the writer was trying to pull off being a marketing guru haha

still though it was a decent read.

Interesting and funny at the same time. Today if you sound like a Guru, many people won't take you seriously. But in this case this guy really is a Guru to many Fortune 100 Internet Marketing companies.

But the K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple Stupid) principle is a lesson worth remembering if you want to display credibility to others. Big (3 and 4 syllable) words can get you ignored, even if what you say is important.

I really like No. 5 on your list: marketing conversations will continue to disperse.

Based on my experience with Twitter marketing, I strongly believe that there will be multiple channels of keeping a conversation going with target audience members.

If you pair this trend up with retargeting technology, it's very easy to see how this could lead to higher levels of conversion.

As any marketer knows, most people would not buy from a brand that they don't trust.

That pretty much applies across the board.

There has to be at least some sort of credibility or authority there.

To get that to happen in the typical setting, can take quite a bit of time and content.

By exploding the different marketing conversation channels involved and synchronizing that with reminders of where they are in the conversation, thanks to retargeting, we can see conversions from up in 2016.

This is definitely quite an exciting time to live in as far as conversion rate optimization and conversation marketing channels are concerned.

Good points, I've found this a good way to get an edge on your competition. Most who've not explored these avenues.
