Examples of pure affiliate marketers

Hi,

I feel this is a dumb question but ill ask it anyway.

Do you have any examples of people who make their income solely from promoting tools, infoproducts and similar business related products?

I wanted to look into affiliate marketing, but i wonder if product creators are the only people who really thrive with affiliate marketing.

Thanks.

  • There are a ton of techniques to make good money with affiliate marketing, but if you're going to spend time learning something, learn how to create your OWN stuff that others want to be affiliates FOR.

    • I don't have enough thumbs to like your answer!!
  • Hello,

I have no proof, but I can tell you that their are a ton of people making money online with affilaite marketing.

You can also find tons of places to become an affilaite.

    Clickbank
    Jvzoo

    are just 2 of many.

Just find a product you have a passion for and build a site around that.
  • One guy that comes to mind is Mike from Maine. He's known for being a really great affiliate marketer but he does create his own products now. At some point it only makes sense to make the transition from solely affiliate marketing to a combination of affiliate marketing and product creation.
  • Also keep in mind that there is a huge world outside of promoting IM, Make Money Online products!

I heavily ppromote PPL (pay per lead) offers because there is no credit card required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form to make money. So the conversions rate are typically much higher than offers that require a purchase.

I favor PPL offers that have a make, get or save money angle to them, as they have overall worked the best for me and tend to have the greatest mass appeal. So the potential to produce high volume exists.

There are many ppl offers that pay $20-$60 (some higher depending on the vertical) that work well with front-end campaigns. Offer that pay less or even some regular cpa offers that require a purchase I will run on the back-end.

I do cheat when it comes to generating traffic. As all my traffic comes from data(email) that I acquire. The reason I use this method is that I'm building assets that I then own and can market to over and over at little cost. Compared to what most markets do and that's to pay for traffic that usually just turns into a bunch of clicks that they can never market additional offers to and have to continue to pay to get more.

That's the real short of the long version. I've been doing this for a little over 16 years now and done right it can be very profitable. Everyone I know that is in the business and know what they are doing, does 6-7 figures. While that's may be a very large range, a lot comes down to how aggressively they scale and effectively managing the infrastructure that comes with scaling.

So YES, promoting affiliate offers can be extremely profitable.

  • You should check out a guy named Pat Flynn. This is his entire business model (on a blog), and he makes regularly over $100,000/month online.

  • How about Kayak.com which makes most (though admittedly not all) of its revenue through the fees airlines, hotels, and car rental agencies pay them after referred customers make a purchase. As DIABL0, states there's a whole world outside of MMO.

That said, affiliate marketing is only one monetization method of many. And it's not a business model in and of itself. To me it seems premature to say, "I'm going to do affiliate marketing" before you've thought about what your value proposition is and whether affiliate marketing is a good fit for it.

    • People who always say create you're own products kind of forget that there are Internet Marketers who are NOT involved with the MMO Niche and products.

Quite honestly, I think I will pass on just creating my own product in my "Spanish Language" Niche.

      No thanks
  • Affiliate Marketing: Promote other people’s products in return for commission. Maybe this is what you should think about a little too. Doesn't matter how many examples you might have, or their success stories. I think at maximum they can be inspiring, but you should also think if this something you can do
  • LOTS of people make big money at pure affiliate marketing. I make four figures every month doing nothing but affiliate marketing.

Keep in mind, though, that there are MANY different types of affiliate marketing.
