Basic Steps before you start Affiliate Marketing

Seems like you answered your own question and you already have taken the steps. You're way ahead of a lot people if you know how to do that proficiently

Starting with your last question...I'm assuming you will be using Wordpress as your platform.

So my question will be, if links embed in the content will work fine or a landing page will do wonders?
Put your tracking links in the content in a natural flow with your writing style. Write your own reviews, articles, etc. rather than using pre-witten ones that may be provided from affiliate programs.


get a special link that will track the sale
You can use the Prettylink plugin, the free version, and it will work just fine for creating tracking links to use everywhere you choose. Such as in emails.


sign up for the affiliate program
This will be determined by your selection of products to promote. For example, digital product marketplaces such as Clickbank offer everything under the sun, and easy enough to join. However, there are vendors who offer their very own affiliate programs. In these cases you would find the product, find the vendor and then join their program.

I see your location is Dubai, why not focus on this as a strength? Look for potential Middle East website vendors and maybe market their products to visitors to your site. Keeping in mind those visitors come from where ever you target online, you could, in time, develop something quite profitable. For example, a local artist has a website, they offer affiliate program, so join and get after it


So keep in mind my ideas are here to get you thinking. They're not affiliate gospel.

Find a product that:

1- You like

2- Solves a problem for your 'Target' MARKET

3- Meets your Income Requirements PER Sale

4- You feel your target audience / market / readers would feel valuable and buy

Now about tracking...

I don't actually sell affiliate products that are available to everyone like Click Bank products. I market products using systems that have tracking 'already' built in.

I think CB and the like have hop links that will tell you how many clicks you get and how many 'conversions' of clicks to sales ETC

Now about traffic...

You say that you are okay with traffic and that you pay for traffic ETC. Paid Traffic is only good if you know how to 'convert' all that traffic into dollars. If not...then you are SOL.

However, if you do know how to 'target' ORGANIC Traffic and have no problem generating free traffic from SEO, then this is great!

Lead Capture Page:

You need one. Don't waste your traffic. Collect leads first! This you can look up in search on this forum if you need to.

Don't miss out on building your lead list. It is in 'respect' for that list where your income lies.

And...you respect your list because it is comprised of REAL (flesh and blood) people just like you and me who have needs, wants, emotions and mixed feelings.

Your not marketing to a list of emails.

You make money when you start to realize that this list is not a cash cow but REAL People (yes some refer to it as cash cow but they have no respect for themselves).

I am no angel and I too forget from time to time but in reality, our business is a PEOPLE Business and we get back from the universe exactly what we put out.

Hyperlinks:

1- You can hyperlink certain 'trigger' words in your content that direct link to YOUR Lead capture page.

2- You can also place a banner or email form to collect leads in the side bar.

3- Trailing Paragraph...This one converts the best for me. At the end of my content (after conclusion), I kind of give my 'pitch' as to why my visitor should now click onto my lead capture link. HINT...You have to intertwine your main theme for each content with why they should click on through to your lead capture page.

I have this at the end of most of my content on my blog.

Just remember that these are skills that will grow over time with practice (and lots and lots of patience).
