Is this a good idea?

Hello Warriors,

I am a guitarist and I'm thinking about opening a membership site with online guitar lessons like this one:

http://www.nextlevelguitar.com/

The main difference is that my site wouldn't be in English, but in my native language. According to Google Keyword tools, there are 40500 monthly searches for the keyword "guitar lessons" translated in my language, and little competition.

In fact, I have searched a bit and discovered that there are NO paid membership guitar sites in my language, they are all English. Guitar sites in my languages are free but they never offer video lessons, just text. I think video lessons are better as a teacher is properly showing you the techniques.

So, 40500 monthly searches and no competition... is this a good idea? I think yes, especially if I consider that the first Google results have Page Rank 3, which shouldn't be too hard to get.

      People in my country tend to NOT know English, that's why they don't signup to sites like Next Level Guitar and that's why I thought to open a local site.

    Pull a Tim Ferriss. Put up your sales page as if the site existed. Do some PPC to drive traffic to the site. When they click to sign up, use an opt-in page with a free video as a giveaway and say that the site is preparing to go live, so get on the list for an "early-bird" discount. Based on the response you get, decide whether or not you want to develop the site. And if you do, BAM... you have a list of customers to start out with.

    By the way, I don't know what your second language is but your English is excellent.

      Sounds like a good idea, thanks! Of course I will upload a lot of free videos, Next Level Guitar is famous because of this (they are top 37 for views and top 15 for subscribers on YouTube).
