What do I need if I dont want to create a product, just advertise others...

Say via paid-advertising, fb adverts or ppc...

I find a product I would like to advertise, do I simply make a 1 page site that i can link straight to the offer, or can I even just send the paid traffic straight to the advert?

Or do I still need to give away some sort of incentive - ebook or report...

Any thoughts appreciated

Alan

If you do it right (good copy, incentive) you can kill two birds with one stone. Capture their email (with hidden field product name/category as well), and then send them off to the product sales page. I would try that first... and if you don't see results, try sending directly to the product sales page. And as always... test bite size samples of traffic at a time to make sure you're maximizing your results. Good luck!

You definitely want to be using a squeeze page of some sort in order that you can collect email addresses as most of the money you make online is in the follow-up - a person needs to be able to see an offer 6-9 times before they will buy - and it also helps if they know, like and trust who they are dealing with. Free eBooks or Videos are recommended as a sweet incentive for them to give you their email address

This is the best method to be preferred on first place. To build trust in customer minds is must to have guaranteed sales.

Until and unless they see you repeatedly, they would not be willing to buy from you.

    Find traffic first......

Find products that existing traffic might want

    Sign up for affiliate programs

    Create value-added content

Drive traffic to the content by hanging out at the traffic pools at Step 1 above.

you need to do a lot of reading. What you want to do is build an email list so you can promote products. You do not want to send prospects to an offer, you want to send them to a squeeze page

Great question Alan, over the years i've tried different strategies, such as article marketing, press releases, video marketing, solo blasts, safe lists, blogging, forum posting, group discussions, of all of these different ways it really depends on what you are looking to get as an outcome. I would say best thing to do is to send your traffic through to a landing page, so you can build a list. Create a following that you will be able to build a relationship with.
    I hope that helps
    best regards,
    Richard

You don't need to give away anything or get them on a list, but you should consider it.

You can definitely just send paid traffic to a squeeze page (which would be to get them on a list then direct them to the offer) or you can discuss a topic on your own site and stick in affiliate links, banners, adsense, etc.

        Thanks for the reply....

        not gung ho no lol

Just I am trying to get my head around the model of list-building.....getting traffic and giving a way a product, adding information via emails, giving value (as said here lots!) and then promoting an affiliate product.

Ok this way I can build a list, build relationship etc, ......but.......

Never tried ppc so very wet behind ears....just in my mind, if someone was searching for maybe ferret management/care (for example), and rather than building a list, simply having an advert on the side related to the product - check clickthrough rates and conversions, work out products that do convert and be able to see clearly what to spend compared to profit....

Have I got that totally wrong? As i say ive never dabbled in ppc, had some success with SEO and selling amazon stuff but little success other than that....happy to be told that my approach is totally wrong.
I get that I wouldnt be building a list with this method, but if ppc is all about working out cost to get a person to a product vs profit on the product after sale, then I think this might be an approach more suitable to me.

Aaaaaaaaaannnnnnyyyyyyy thoughts on this would be chewed up and ingested with lots of appreciation

I'd be thinking a hybrid squeeze that includes a few high value bonuses...you can work the page out to submit an email but not leave the page. I'd test something like this.

Running PPC or FB ads to a squeeze page is not only going to be flagged for quality, but you are going to spend a *shit load* of money trying to virtually direct link offers.

I have been doing this for 18 years...get em on a list and THEN pitch...waaay easier and you'll spend less long term because your sales will be higher...

Direct linking can still be eeked out but imo i think building that list is the key to the kingdom/relationship.

    1. You need a funnel with a giveaway in exchange of their email. (If you don´t know how to do this you can outsource it)
    2. Build your list.
    3. Email to your list good content and a variaty of good quality products related to their interest.

Create an Asset like the others have said or inferred here.

Don't drink the "Newbie Koolaid" and be tempted to send them straight to Sales Page.

Make them a lifelong customer by giving them something of Value in exchange for their contact info.

    Hi Alan,

All you have to do with affiliate programs is to advertise them... Period!

Most affiliate programs offer you Banners, Text Ads, Splash Pages and etc...

Don't do anything else but advertise the site.

A easy and simple way is to use traffic exchanges and safelist (credit based) to advertise the affiliate programs.

    Think it through...

Without an incentive - what is it that you will put in your PPC ad? Come see my excellent article or content??

Then assuming you do get *some* people to your site from your ad - what are the chances they are going to click on an ad? TINY my friend.

That's why you are far better advertising a valuable incentive (doesn't really matter what format - but you want it to be of value and aligned with your eventual product offer)

That way you get the lead on your list and can send them additional content to build relationship AND multiple offers where they will be far more likely to click through and buy from your affiliate link.

    Hi Alan

If I were you I'd set up an Opt-In page to get people to subscribe by using some kind of a report or ebook, something that people are going to find valuable. It is very important to start building a subscriber list from day 1 if you can. Then once you have captured their email addresses send them to your affiliate offers.
