How to get Qualified Traffic to your Website?

I'm interested to hear from some of the internet marketing experts on here about the best forums you recommend to drive highly targeted traffic to your marketing website.

I understand we shouldn't just post links to our website as we'll be flagged as spam and we need to add some value by answering some questions on the forums.

Good things do not come easily and I am well aware effort is required to drive qualified traffic to the website and highly targeted paid advertising works well. But how about investing time (The biggest cost of all in my opinion) to help others on forums by answering questions. Which forums would you guys recommend?

I would use forums that are related to your niche. If you are in the real estate business then join communities and forums that are in that arena.

I think the days of half-ass content is over. You've got to be able to convey content that actually does someone some good that actually works.

The most important thing I would do is try to add value and answer questions with the best possible information I could. You want people to take you serious and if you are posting short, snarky answers then you'll just be background noise.

The same thing goes with blogging. If I write a title that says, "10 Ways to Get More Conversions" and I only write a short paragraph with a subhead that says, "Write Quality Content" well. no Sh**! Of course you're gonna have to do that, Tell me something I didn't know and show me how to do it.

(Believe it or not, I just saw a blog like that with the same subhead and I couldn't believe it.)

So my answer to your question is find forums that are in your target market. That's the easy step.

The more important step is to write mind-blowing content. That's what'll separate the men from the boys.

    God Bless,

    Elmo

Hello i'd like to help you with that as it really depends what niche you are in, and how you are able to find that is by going to google and typing your keyword in, plus forum. That's a pretty good way to find that forum that you would be interested in. Another way that you might be able to find the answer to your question is try looking at your competitors website and then take a look at who is visiting their website, a good chance you might find the exact place that you are looking for, i hope that helps.

Just hire a VA and have him/her find you a ton of forums, filter the forums by niche/backlink activity/Alexa site info score/social media interaction

It should cost no more than $150 for a good VA to research/filter the list/create an account on each and customize the accounts.

You should also try forum-like platforms like Quora and Yahoo Answers. For YA, you'll need a high level account.

    Hi,

No Doubt forum posting is a best way for getting traffic, but it is not the main resource to get the traffic.
By posting in the forum you will get branding of your product or your website!

Now if your looking for the quality traffic then you need to target your website on social media, as you know forum posting is also a good source of getting traffic but it is also a medium of social media.

Basically, I realise Quora is good as you can't run out of questions to answer. It may take a while before you see the traffic flow, but definitely worth a try.

I`m sure that one of your targeted forums is this one. (are you doing here exactly what you asked?)
There is a problem with your question: You are asking us what are the forums where you can get targeted traffic. How can we know that if we don`t know what niche are you in?
For all I know you are selling car parts, but if I recommend a forum about growing petunias, how is that going to help your website get targeted traffic?
Also, I hope that you have experience about the things you will be talking about and aim to add value to the forums because the world is full of spammers and we don`t need another one (here or on other forums).

I see no one has given you an actual list of forums lol

I'm going to break the awkward silence here!

    If you are in the internet marketing niche, here are the forums I would recommend;

The Warrior Forum, of course! ..duhh! lol .. I would say this forum is the leader in this niche (by the way.

    forums.digitalpoint.com
    trafficplanet.com
    webmastersun.com
    **********.com

And if you want to look for more forums and maybe forums on different niches, you can use findaforum.net to help you with your research.

Forum marketing is a great way to drive traffic, that is for sure!

And I agree with most here - you must deliver very valuable content on these forums, and always look to help people out within the community. Lead with real value, and the rest will fall into place naturally

    Hope this helps ya!

There are really NO reputable traffic exchanges. The whole Premise behind them is extraordinarily flawed for people looking for quality, targeted traffic

But yet that is the reason of your original Post and what it entails , no ? Getting targeted traffic from Forum Posting.

Of course it should NOT be based on Hope. There needs to be some Give and Take. And quality "Give" , absolutely is a must

Time and effort is also required to find forums that offer value. No offense, but just like in fishing, if I find a honey hole, I'm not posting it on a public forum. I could PM it, but, being a fisherman, I'd probably be lying...

One of the charter boats I'm fond of has a sign hanging on the cabin door near where you board. It says, "We recommend leaving GPS units in your car. We've found that they don't work well under 100 feet of water." There are many captains that would rather let you date his teenage daughter than give up his book of numbers.

Think about it - once you do find your own forums that work for you, how eager do you think you'll be to share them here, where many members will openly boast about pirating content, promoting spam tools, etc.?

What you want to do is to google your 'niche + forum'….all of the highest ranked forums will pop up!

Go in a create an account. If there is a signature page, definitely put a link to your website in your signature (just look at mine below this post or anybody else's post). And then you are correct…you want to actually add value to people's posts.

Nobody likes having sales forced down their throats. So do your best to answer questions and add value to the posts you comment on. This will also help other forum goers to see you and know that you're the real deal, hence trusting you more!

I hope that helps and best of luck

Hi, here is a blurb from an article that I just published for my subscribers on building a list of customers to sell to (no URL, just a few paragraphs from it). I hope that it helps:

"Fishing tip no.1: look for groups of fish, not just single ones

If you want to increase your chances of success in bringing in more customers, aim for GROUPS of individuals that share a common interest in what you offer.

As an example, you may have a simple post card that you use to reach your target market.
Handing out that post card one-at-a-time to individuals may work to some degree, but distributing it to a group at a conference is much better. It puts your 'bait' in the middle of the 'school', where you have a better chance of getting more attention and engagement.

So, begin to identify places where groups of people congregate, so that you can gain MASS EXPOSURE for your marketing efforts.

What community groups or special interest organizations in your local area have a need for your expertise or product knowledge? Which support groups or clubs could benefit from what you do? Those are the first places that you should look on a local level.

Using social media, find specific groups on the topic that you specialize in. Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram and LinkedIn have stacks of groups that you could be contributing to...while you connect with your target audience.

I hope that this makes sense to you, because it has the potential to supercharge your list-building and customer acquisition."

Since you are looking for big numbers to hit your website, focus on building your subscriber list, to make your job easier.......just keep your eye out for BIG groups to fish from.

All the best in your marketing efforts,
    Jerry Kuzma

just look for a niche forum
google> "niche keywords" + "forum" for example
Then he signs up and participate
The wf it is a living example
Certainly not you can post as spam hey you buy this ....
but many have a marketplace I have a dedicated section for advertising or to give away free products
This paticolare in the IM niche
nell'altre niches is already more difficult to find a market section (but there are)
in any niche you can still give away a free ebook with your links
everything is as it you propose
not enough to say ebook gift, much better
I'm writing an ebook on the subject xxxx and vore know what you think .... etc
Then remains the link in signature
looking for a tread with a high number of visits and answer to it (so helpful)
more more exposure thread .... all free advertising
Also forums are very well indicizati on google
    is
As you have several threads avarai definitely your post on google which is equivalent to traffic traffic free

unfortunately I am not a native English speaker

        I try to make a summary :

1 search on google niche forums that interest you
insert "niche" + "forum" example *"lose weight" + "forum"

        2 join in the forum.

3 search of the threads with many visits and answer.

        4 open an interesting thread.

5 insert your signature with a link to promote it will be displayed in all your threads
now you have more threads .... more exposure you have in your signature
considers that google indexes the threads of the forum so many will come from google read your thread and see your signature.

6 look if the forum has a "market" section where you can expose your product
        for example wso this forum.
7 give away free ebooks via the forum if there
a section to it (many have one)

        I hope goes well !!!

    Hey Paul,

You've probably heard this answer multiple times above but just search your niche and then "forum". Sign up to every one of them and make 10-20 comments on each.

Monitory your results via Google Analytics, you'll be able to see who's referring the most. There will be some clear winners.

I also use google alerts to set up alerts when specific topic conversations are taking place and I'll jump in and give my 2 cents with my sig in the footer.

It seems like you already got a ton of ideas where to go above. Forum marketing is great traffic but it does involve a great deal of work and value to add. A lot of folks will attempt it because it seems easy enough. What ever form of advertising you pick, make sure to stick to it for the long run!

    There are no short cuts!

    To your success!!

Hello All, Great thread! The tips provided are extremely insightful I just recently registered as a member of this forum. I am in the midst of conducting research to start an online business and I am hoping that someone can refer me to an SEO/online marketing GURU (the best of the best!) who is able to answer several SEO related questions I have and provide me with SEO advice pertaining to my business venture. I would like to speak with the SEO Genius over the phone or via skype voice chat. I would gladly pay $50 for 30 to 60 minutes of the individual's time. Hopefully someone can provide me with a referral. Thanks so much!
