Hi all new Warriors,

Here is my promise to you and I bet Other Warriors will join me in this.

I'm not a super affiliate, Guru or Big Name and I'm not even rich off my Internet Marketing. However, I have made some money and I have helped some others create products and make some money also.

If you want me to I will
  • I will drop in on your threads and give you answers to your questions.
  • I will give you an eBook or two from my library if I think it will help you.
  • I will answer your Private messages to the best of my ability
  • I will give you my honest review of your new products
  • I'll advise you on your first WSO
  • I will do what ever I am able to do to help you
The only things I ask of you
  • Do not make any posts that are obviously one liners to boost your post count just so you can use certain features of this forum
  • Do not make posts that are articles from other places on the net. The Warrior Forum is not an article directory. We can smell an article a mile away.
  • Do not answer questions requests or make comments in threads where you are just posting on the subject for the sake of posting but haven't taken the time to understand what is being discussed. We "know."
  • Do not expect me not to "market" to you. Marketing is what I do. Rather than getting all offended when a Marketer markets to you learn from the process. If my marketing is sloppy, learn how not to do it. If my marketing is clever and effective and your finger is trembling to hit the buy now button, learn from that also. I will never require you to buy anything from me or anyone else as a condition of helping you. Conversely, If I have something I'm selling and I recommend it to you, don't "expect" it for free. I may or may not give it to you, but don't "expect" me to.
So, what if you already have a bunch of worthless posts? Go back and edit them. You can do that. Edit them to be worthwhile posts. If you can't think of anything to say to edit them, delete them. Losing post count from worthless posts will not hurt you and it will help you in the long run. Realize that with a click of a button we can view all your old posts and we do so sometimes.

Example of worthless posts from a new Warrior= "I have no experience in what you are talking about and I can't help on this, Sorry." or "Thanks for that." (There is a thank you button. On the other hand a helpful post could be, Thanks for that, it helped me because...(how it helped you and what you plan to do with the info, here)

What if you've gotten off to a bad start by being identified as a one line wonder or a spammer or another negative thing. First, read the previous paragraph and second, STOP it. Please don't feel the need to make a public apology or anything like that. Just STOP it and move on from here.

Well, there you have it. For what it's worth I'll help where I can if you are a true WARRIOR no matter how new you are. If you don't give a rat's patootie about me or others helping you, and have another agenda, that's fine too. However, if you do want to be a member of the best marketing community on the Internet, then expect to hear from me and I'm sure some other's from here also.

My best to you,

George Wright, P.S. Yes, I realize that there are New Warriors who are not new to IM and you Know more and are more successful than Many Old Warriors including Yours Truly. This post wasn't about you in fact you can help the true newbies also, as I'm sure you already do. Thanks GW

If we run this through copyscape, will we find that you are copying verbatim from previous WF posts?

I/We desperately need a ROTFL thank you button.

Sorry George, a regular thank you won't do justice for me here.

George, this is very generous of you. You're a real stand-up guy. I'd like to
join you in your pledge, though my time is limited these days. But I'll do
        what I can.

I'd love to add something to what you said but the truth is, you really pretty
much covered it all and said it a lot better than I ever could.

Sadly, as Jay said, those who need to see this thread never will.

But just maybe it will make a difference to at least one person.

        One can only hope.

Maybe a stupid question, but how do you send a PM in this forum? I can't find an icon or button to do it. Or do you need a certain number of posts before you can send a PM?

          Thanks.

Click the username of the member you want to send a PM. After having done that, I think you'll understand what should follow.

Most of the people who need to see this post of yours, will not see it. They are too busy posting one-liners.

They could get a whole lot from this forum, if they would just stop and think for a moment before trying to spam and scam in here..

    lol

Ya, I see a lot of that on here. Usually if I see someone has left a quick post like that, i'll check what else they have posted. And usually a few pages of the same post reply. Then they get banned, and are back 5 minutes later with a new account.

As a WF newbie, I'll take you up on your offer and try to learn everything I can from you and other seasoned Warriors.

Also as a newbie, I'll vow to help other newbies with things that I've learned here and actually tried out for myself. Sometimes us newbies are in the same frame of mind.

Now, as a video company owner for the past 20 years, I'll definitely try to help others who are trying to use video in their marketing. Questions with editing. Questions with software. Questions with equipment. If I have answers, I'll post them.

      Hope that's ok with everyone.

    Hi George, All

To me being a real warrior, specially in our forum means to be strong. To go on our campaigns even if we're having a really "DRY" spell. Not whinning even if we're facing hardships but focusing instead on helping other people who comes in here for assistance, realizing that they could be in a much harder situation than us.

For me being a real warrior means carrying your own weight not expecting others to carry it for you.

As a warrior I strive towards Independence and Self-sufficiency but still I'm inspired to hear warriors offering help. It's nice to know that if we get ourselves into some tight spot, other warriors got our back.

Some of those new in here don't understand the value of establishing real relationships in this forum. All they see is the big number of members and the potential to earn by stupid methods. Although we can't control this situation, posting a message like what you did would surely get the attention of some of them and if we're lucky, it could open their minds to the real value of WF.

    Thanks,

    omar

George, great oath other than you forgot to include one very important issue that would be of great help for those of us who are getting a little bored flipping through the endlessly repeated hash, and that issue, of course, is that there is a search button in the forum, which can be accessed simply by clicking the little box that says "search" which you will find on the menu bar second position from the right and which contains the entire archives for the all the years of posts and many subjects of your interest within multiple informative posts, rendering you much more education on the subject of inquiry than a single question posted in the forum can achieve all while leaving the forum in the proper creatively fluent state to conduct informative and vital and timely discussion for all rather than dessecating it into an endless wasteland of regurgitated innane residue which bores the bejeebers out of the experienced and knowledgeble members and drives them from the forum and out of reach for vital comentary for weeks at a time, and we would all sure appreciate it if you would USE THE SEARCH for basic more elementary inquiries.

Ah...crap....I'm sorry, George. How crude of me to post a one liner right after your request for us to not do so.

      HeySal,

Do you realize I much I struggle to read one liners. That is the problem with us newbies.

Ok, so I am in fact a not so new newbie who actually spends loads of time hitting that search button in order to try and figure out what I am supposed to do. I am also a not so young newbie which means I often don't understand some of the information that is provided.

      Therefore,

George, I will gratefully take you (and anybody else) up on your offer. Yes, there are others that have been (trying) to help me, but I still seem to have a long way to go.

In fact, the more I learn, the more I find that I need to learn.

So nuts to those of you who are teasing George unmercifully about his offer to help those of us who are struggling to make a success of something that we don't always understand:confused:

Come hell or high water, I will get there eventually

And to those of you who are in the same boat that I am - Dont you DARE give up! That is not an option!

Sandy - George knows we are heckling him only with affection. George is respected by all of us and most of us have learned much from him. His offer is actually one which you will find many a Warrior willing to match. I think it was stated mostly so the newbies can understand more of the tradition of the forum as there are so many others that attempt to be what this place is.......and will never make it. Mostly because of Warriors in the old tradition - like George.

As far as being an older newbie....I've only been online since a few weeks before I accidentally fell into this community and I'm no spring chicken, trust me on that one! I congratulated myself for even figuring out how to post the first time!

As far as the more you learn the more you learn there is to learn......LOL - I've said that so many times, word for word. And no matter how much I learn, I just keep saying it, but never feel inferior because I've never met anyone here yet, no matter what their skill level that isn't muttering the same phrase about some aspect or other about this business. There's a lot more to learn than any one person could ever master in a life time.

But that is part of why this community is so darned vital, too. Because we not only form a support network of people with varied skills outside of our own capacity, but we make friends and friendships can become JV's of partners who have skills we lack but together form highly skilled teams.

I can honestly say that almost everything I have learned about IM, I've learned right here, and I have been extremely blessed in having some personal attention from some very expert Warriors. They gave to me without hesitation and I know the help infringed on their own time. How could I not respect and cherish these wonderful people? The only means I have to show my appreciation is to answer those pm's when they come in and do my best to share my limited knowledge when able and just every once in awhile, I find that I get to be the one who helps one of them in my own fields of expertise...which I can guarantee you isn't technology!

If you are not shy, you will find that there will be times, no matter how new you are, that you will be the one with the expert information that someone else needs, so never let being a newbie throw you off balance. And please recognize that sometimes when you see bickering or a little light hearted harrassment, it is often done via the comfort of friendship.

It's the truth though that we need to do a little searching to avoid the same old questions all the time. There's many days you can come into the main forum lately and see the same question posted several times on the first page alone. There's one right now about ezinearticles.com that's been posted 3 to 4 times today. It doesn't hurt anyone, new or not, to at least take a cruise through the first few pages and join with any relevant threads they find instead of posting their own totally new one. It would sure help get the questions answered more efficiently.

          HeySal,

I was well aware that you were all simply teasing George. I am sorry If I came across as being derogatory in any way.

Believe me, EVERYTHING that I have learned, has been because of the Warrior Forum. I regularly spend hours searching the various posts for information. In addition, I have "met" some incredibly wonderful and helpful people (and one or two really bad guys).

Admittedly, I am not a great one for making posts. Invariably, there are so many more learned warriors commenting, that it is not worth putting my 2 pennies in as well. In fact all the "thanks" I have received have been primarily related to certain private forums that I got involved in and when those 2 forums shut down, I will also lose the posts numbers and "thanks"

In-so-far as actually starting a useful posts go - I haven't had the courage yet, everybody seems to know so much more than I do. So I continue read, search and ask for help.

No doubt the time will come when I can actually provide help, but that time has not yet arrived.

I am truly grateful to all of you who choose to get involved with us "newbies".

Like the others, I just had to, sorry LOL

Seriously, that is so nicely put, I love it but can I also add something to your list that you request a newbie does and that is..

Please post a proper subject title, not just "I need help" or something along those lines, you will get a lot more help, more quickly if you do.

And I will certainly carry on trying to help when I know I can

AND George, I am not a newbie anymore but I sure as heck know that I still need help sometimes, so as long as I follow what you ask, can I still ask for help if I need it?

Sorry, but I have difficulty agreeing with you. I am not sure that any newbies actually go to that section. If they do it is certainly not on a regular basis.

Since this thread is aimed at helping newbies, it seems to me that it is in the correct place.

Come to think of it, since George has been a member of this formum for quite a long time, I am sure he would not have made such a silly mistake.

Hmm, so... the way I see it is this:

Just because the thread is about "helping newbies", doesn't mean it should be in the "making money" forum. Only posts that are about "making money" directly, should go in this forum.

Sure, you could argue that not posting worthless dribble will help you make money, but you could argue anything.

This post is definitely a "being more successful" type of post, and you could argue that it relates to making money...

      But still.

      It's not a "help newbies" forum. That's just one aspect. It's a help-people-make-money forum.

      Ja ja?

Maybe, you missed this bit from George:

Do not make any posts that are obviously one liners to boost your post count just so you can use certain features of this forum
The intent behind the "one-liner" is the issue here...

Hum... I admit I haven't read all of the many non-one-liners in this thread, but I would like to add one more thing to the newbies:

If all you ever do is posting one-liners, people will easily recognize it, and it won't help you a tad. What do you need a huge postcount for if you aren't planning on contributing to this forum anyways? Even if you get 500 posts+, but with no real value, people won't recognize you anyway, as you haven't given anything to anyone.

Btw, would it be possible to make this thread become a pop-up to new users the first few times they are posting? Or maybe even putting it where the top advertising is, like when your PM inbox is full? That should get their attention.

I also saw a pretty similar thread here a few days ago from Mr. Wagenheim himself which was really good too =)

Great thread George, I'll PM it to one-liner newbies when I see them

    George -

When this really new newbie found the Warrior Forum 2 weeks ago, it was like getting a birthday cake. Your offer to help is like the icing!! So I'm giving a huge, enthusiastic "yes" to all the help you (and other Warriors) can provide as I learn about affiliate marketing.

And you don't ever have to worry about those one-liners from me - probably haven't uttered one of those since I was a toddler:-) LOL though because while I already picked up that "thank you" button thing, I completely missed the "boosting your post count" trick. What can I say - it's a newbie thing:-) I'm probably going to miss some other stuff along the way here on the forum but trust me - I'm a quick study and won't make the same mistake twice. So check me if need be and know that it's sinking in.

I came to affiliate marketing recently as a 50-something who dropped out of law and corporate life into the wonderful world online. After playing around with social media and loving it, I literally stumbled on the concept of affiliate marketing and it grabbed me!

In just a couple of weeks, I find I'm here on the forum everyday and it's become the place I go first for answers to my gazillion questions. It's also a place where I come for inspiration. As I read posts by Warriors in various stages of success, I know I can have it too.

At this point you're probably wondering where's a one-liner when you need it, so I'll just close with a big thank you (not through the button although I made one there too) for your amazing generosity in offering to help newbies like me. I'm looking forward to your advice, answers, reviews, product offers and the other great "whatevers" you share.

    Thanks in advance for everything!
