Fiverr Account and Gig Advice For Everyone

Hi.

I got an email this morning from a kind person who was struggling asking if I could give them advice on how to profit on fiverr. And what I did to have success on fiverr.

I wrote the email and decided this might be a great thing to share with you all as well. I'm all about helping people.

So here you go :

First what I did was create a product on warrior forum around my skill -- writing children's books -- it was a book teaching people how to write. Some people were lazy and of course wanted me to write the book for them. I also offered coaching but few people actually did the work.

I built a nice list of close to 500 buyers of the book. After I stopped being a JV for other warriors on here ( long story ) I started to promote my services to my list instead. It worked but not so often.

I built the fiverr account just because I wanted something faster. I waited a few days to finally tell my list I was on fiverr. When I did I told them I was doing a BOGO on fiverr. Everyone jumped at the chance. I went from 10 orders total to over 100 in only 5 days.

Because of those 100 orders people on fiverr in general started buying my gig. Reviews started to pile up.

Some advice

Two things I always did was avoid negative reviews. If someone wanted to even put 3 stars I'd contact fiverr to cancel the order for me. I also avoided late deliveries. If I was going to be late or if I was late I'd mark the order delivered early. If I was late I'd cancel the order and give the story for free to my buyer.

Custom service is super important! There are many fiverr seller who have NO manners. If you say a simple " Thank you for contacting me" It means a lot to a buyer.

Make sure your terms are clear in your gig itself. And you use those quick message options to have your terms outlined to save time and remove stress.

People said the more gigs the better -- I disagree because I'd rather focus on just a single craft vs a number of them. Promoting one gig is hard enough.

Make sure you have an actual website with a domain that connects to your fiverr account name. This makes you a professional not a hobbiest. Plus if your fiverr account gets deleted you still have your website to promote your services.

The only thing I wish I had done was keep building my list while working on fiverr. If I had released a book each month it would have built my business into something consistent. I recommend doing that like crazy.

As a fiverr seller and service provider you want to find a book topic or product idea that you can both sell to those who are " tire kickers" and to those who just want it done.

Teaching people your craft may be a good start. Like those udemy courses that teach how to's... those people get more orders of their services because they made themselves an expert. You need to make yourself an expert in the field by showcasing you have knowledge.

I really hope this helps you all.

That's awesome. What went through your mind when you went from 10-100 sales almost overnight? That must have been exciting!

    Thanks for the informative post.

You know, I'd kind of turned my back on Fiverr, but thuinking back it can be a great lead generator - especially if you go for gigs that really appeal to your potential clients.

OK so a new wave is coming. People call it the gig economy. This is replacing the old one. However, there are some issues. I have found that on FIVERR most make less than minimum wage. There is no health care. Also, there is no unemployment available if you find yourself in a dry spell with no gigs or money coming in. Hope we can soon resolve these major issues.

Hey there SEOBRO Fiverr is all about looking after your customers. If you look after your customers they will come back and there should not be any dry spell. Some people are earning a decent living off Fiverr but yes whenever one is working for themselves there is no health cover and the perks of working for an employer bu the aim of the Entrepreneur is to make enough money not to have to rely on Health care. Thanks for this post it was very informative

The only change I've seen is that the term "outsourcing" is now called "gig economy". Beyond that, nothing's changed.

If you really want to make minimum wage and get benefits, go get traditional employment! Of course there's no guarantee nor health care nor unemployment! Why would there be? When one is self-employed, it's one's own responsibility to cover these things. I do. Don't forget higher taxes, (at least in the US). All these points are why I have to charge much more for my services. But I certainly don't whine that the marketplaces have some sort of responsibility to take care of me. They are simply marketing tools; they are hardly safety nets.

And please don't tell me there are no traditional jobs. Even in the US, in every community, there are factories that are crying for good, sober workers. It's not that there's a lack of (traditional) jobs; it's a lack of people who are willing to work hard and earn a day's pay.

I also noticed that a lot of people will appreciate if you give them little bit more as they expect as a super bonus for them, they will be extremely happy about that.

And I can confirm that kindness and politeness is very important (be nice to people and in most cases they will be nice too !)

I'm unsure how to address SEOBRO's response. I find it negative and really unneeded.
Yes people some make less than minimum wage but those who don't are professionals and have mastered the art of promotion , pricing and customer service.

There are plenty of fiverr sellers doing much better than I was -- I remember reading in their blog about a seller making tons of money. So it is possible.

No business starts off easy nor does it start with health insurance and benefits. And these days -- few careers provide that.

Why bring a dull look onto something just because not everyone is making "minimum wage"? All internet marketing fields have the same issue so why complain about one source of income that has helped thousands of people earn a living from home?

Cancel the order and give them the product for free. The goal is awesome customer service. Even if the client sucks -- they still need great service.

You'll need to build a list. It's how you start off. By using your resources in the very beginning you build your brand quickly and are able to enjoy that friendship. As well as prove to people you don't know that you can be trusted.

      Have a good day.
