Dear Associate,

We have an issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

We noticed that you're using the domain name my-domain.com The Associates Program Operating Agreement prohibits your use of Amazon trademarks, or misspellings or variations of Amazon trademarks, in domain names. Please note that our trademark policy also covers any username, group name, or other identifier on any social network website.

We need you to find a new domain name that does not violate the Associates Program Operating Agreement and transfer your content to your new site within the next seven (7) days. We also need you to transfer this domain to Amazon, as well as any other domains you own that contain any of our trademarks.

Please reply to us with your transfer authorization by using the Contact Us form available here -- https://affiliate-program.amazon.com/gp/associates/contact.

After we hear from you, Amazon will arrange to purchase your my-domain.com domain for the initial registration price, provided that you agree not to register any other domains containing Amazon trademarks, or misspellings or variations of those trademarks.

If we do not hear from you within seven (7) days, we will be forced to close your associates account and withhold payment of all advertising fees in accordance with the Associates Program Operating Agreement.

While we sincerely appreciate your enthusiasm for our brands, we have a legal responsibility to monitor how others use Amazon trademarks. We obviously want to avoid confusion among customers who see your domain name and wrongly assume that your website and its content are sponsored or written by Amazon.

Is the email really from Amazon? Check the sender address in the email, sometimes people go to extremes to get what they want.

Well, you don't tell us your real domain name, just refer to my-domain.com. The email you received refers to the The Associates Program Operating Agreement prohibiting your use of Amazon trademarks, or misspellings or variations of Amazon trademarks, in domain names.

So . . . my question is, are you using a domain name that violates this?

If you are, you are in complete violation and need to obtain another domain name as quickly as possible. If you believe you are not, you need to get in contact with Amazon and establish just why they believe you are.

The situation seems very clear to me. What is there to not understand?

This is a strange email i must say, are you sure this email isn't a fake one from some tricksters? I never seen amazon saying they want to buy a domain from an affiliate. You should get in touch with the there support center and get an explanation via telephone and not by email.

Amazon rules don't allow you to use the word Amazon in the domain name. You used it. They found you out. The domain's a gonner; you won't be promoting amazon.com products on it anymore and, most likely, they will not let you promote anything else, either.

The question for you is: what's the easiest way for you to deal with it?

Save your databases and files, buy a different domain name, upload your site is in your future.

You go point as many of the backlinks to the new site.
The new site will not rank like the old site without the required work.

The sooner you get working, the sooner your new site will rank, the sooner you'll be back to making the money you're used to making.

You had best do what Amazon want. They will ban you otherwise and they will lock the domain so you can't renew it anyway.

They have been really tough recently so read up on the guidelines or get sacked from aa

Amazon can have your entire site taken down - forget ranking or payment then.

Think Amazon can't do that? Just ignore them and see.

If it's legit, you have to take it down or it will get taken down. They have the right to take action.

You tried to get cute with a non-English domain name, and you got caught. You verified that the email did come from Amazon.

Seems pretty cut and dried from here...
