I need wordpress help

How do I force one old post to stay at the top of my home page even after I add new content?

Can't even find a plugin.

THanks

First you need to make it a page rather than a post.
Then you can go to "settings" then "reading"
    and select a "static page"

  • Go edit the post. Over to the right you will see "Visibilityublic" Click on that. It will open a dropdown box that gives you the option to check "Stick this post to the front page"

That's what I do. If you dont like that option, you can use the plugin wpsticky.

        Brad,

I would add that if you want to have a nav button for your visitors to click to see the rest of your blog posts, go make another page called "blog" or "blog posts" and leave the post area blank.

Next go back to the reading settings and go to front page displays and click the radio button, "your latest posts" and go to the "post page" and click on the drop down box and scroll down to "blog" or "blog posts" that you made and highlight that.

The result is that you will see a navigation button either in your header or in your sidebar that a visitor can click to see all the rest of your posts.

That is in addition to what you would have done to make a static front page.

        Hope that helps!

        Regards,
        Bruce

Sticky Post in your publish settings.

You can also style this area if you want to jazz it up and make it stand out from the others- easiest way is to install the WP Sticky plugin and you can use some styling tips from here WPDesigner.com Style featured posts with WP-Sticky plugin
