Confused with facebook ads

Hello,

I am really confused with facebook ads. Before a week I have started a campaign in order to attract likes to my facebook page. I have launched an ad and the cost was about 0,04euros/like which was "good" for me. When I have edited my campaign by only extending the duration of the campaign the cost has gone to 0,08cents per like.

One other strange example is when I have tried to edit an another ad for facebook likes by make the audience that the ad is shown from 18-65 to 18-35 as from the statistics this age group was responding much better to my ad again I noticed an increase in cost per like.

Could you please help me find out what I am doing wrong?

Thank you in advance

You need to check the relevancy of your ad, and change the image. Also the like ad is best to be right ad, not mobile or desktop newsfeed.
Keep your ad simple. If you Like"niche" then give us a like..
Use a a face as ad image, they tend to convert a lot better..

Sometimes campaigns just run their course and become less effective. Also, you should be doing new adsets and not editing ads so it does not skew your results. That is if I understand what you are doing.

Sometimes it takes FB a day or two to find it's new groove after you change things.

Take an audience of 100k people.

You create campaign A and facebook shows it to subset xyz and they respond really well and you get create cpc so FB keeps showing it to people similar to the subset that initially responded.

Then you create campaign B, This time facebook randomly shows it first to subset ABC. This time they dont' respond so well so facebook expands a bit and shows it to another subset and this keeps happening until facebook hits the group of people who respond the best and starts showing it to people similar to that.

That's why you can create 5 identical campaigns all with dramatically different ctr.

Give FB some time to work it's magic.

When running an add always have variations to a/b test the results, on thing you can do to try this is use the same text but change the image, and all you have to do is choose the one that has a better CTR at the end of your trial

Some times when you narrow interests or demographics, as your audience size shrinks, the price goes up. I think its because Facebook knows you are getting to your targeted audience, so they charge you more. So always remember, when your audience size is bigger, you will have a great reach for the money spent, but as the audience shrinks and you get more specific, your reach is not as great.
