Cashing in on Super Bowl ad: Bought PuppetMonkeyBaby.com

The ad was actually saying 'PuppyMonkeyBaby' but it confused a lot of viewers as evidenced by twitter. I now have PuppetMonkeyBaby.com. I have the domain for sale at the moment.

Or should I keep it and try to monetize in other ways?

If I registered a domain based on one Superbowl "oddity" - and someone offered me 100 times what I paid for it....I'd take the money and run.

However, whois shows the domain registered last November and held by Pepsico...and is online with "kickstart Mountain Dew" site.

That is the actual domain PUPPYmonkeybaby. He registered a mis-spelling (or mis-heard) PUPPETmonkeybaby.

I agree. Take the 1K and run. The superbowl is over now.

          Thanks - I totally missed the "t"...

Now that I'm "with the program" - I'd be amazed if someone paid $1k for it. Seriously, take the money and run!

It's quick money but also somewhat creative and quick thinking.

If indeed you get $1k that is a job well done.

I agree with kilgore though probably not repeatable.

But if true still not bad

Honestly, I'm not surprised. Your question isn't that interesting. So you've found a way to make a quick buck by what's more or less a fluke. Quick thinking? Absolutely. Repeatable? Probably not. Scalable? Not a chance. So what's of interest to discuss?

As for what you should do, I have no idea. I've never tried to grab quick and easy money and I've never flipped a domain in my life. But if you don't have a good idea for the domain, it seems to me your better off following Kay's advice: take the money and run. My guess is that given the public's short attention span, that domain isn't going to have much utility much longer -- so it really will only have much value to someone who is able to use it right now. If that's not you, sell it to someone who is.

Yep, selling is your best option. If I remember correctly, the ads are specifically created for the Super Bowl. The event is already over and in one week nobody will care about this ad...

Which was the actual purpose of this BS post. Thought you might suck someone in, an unsuspecting newbie perhaps?
