So here it is... I'm going to blog and decided to go with Wordpress. Is it ok to go with the free blogging that wordpress offers? and my experience with tumblr is zilch to none. Everytime I look at it I think of instagram,...just seems like a bunch of photos....

If you have a hobby or really don't care if the site is up or down or makes money or not then Wordpress.com is fine. If you are trying to build a business or plan to use your blog as a money making thing, you really should get your own hosting and set up WP on a domain you own.

I also like Wordpress because I've used it several times but the part that i always get hung up on trying to configure my Blog to just one page. Adding a menu, etc...because behind the blog comes the technical part and thats where i get hung up on. I want my blog to just have one page. Not four for example. And then thats where the frustration sets in....The settings behind the blog is where my weakness is at.

You should go with paid version of Wordpress.

There can be some pain in learning the basics of Wordpress, but trust me, in the long run, it's worth it.

    Why?

    It’s easy to use
    It’s highly customizable
The security level is top notch
A big community willing to give support
Endless sea of themes and plugins
    Very SEO friendly

The choice is completely yours but all I can do is recommend WordPress. There’s really nothing like that out there.

If you don't know how to set it up, check out this tutorial.

    Hope this helps.

WordPress paid version is #1 for me!

Works perfect and you can install all the plugins, themes,
sldeshows etc. which is not the case with WordPress free version.

If thou art pained by any external thing, it is not this that disturbs thee, but thy own judgment about it. And it is in thy power to wipe out this judgment now.

Wordpress if you want a website with blogging capabilities, but if you just want a blog, Tumblr and Medium have better networks and you'll get more eyeballs blogging there IMO.

Yeah I've looked into Tumblr but then I browse around and it seems like I see nothing but Photos and Quotes etc...So thats what kinda drove me away from Tumblr....and then I think about it, and i guess not understanding it is the main foundation is what drove me away to begin with.

I agree with the Wordpress choice. So many options and not just for the blogging platform. Also, great for marketers who aren't tech savvy. The wordpress community is very impressive and developers are building better and better themes, plugins and extensions.

Wordpress by all counts. There is a reason that 25 percent of the world's websites run Wordpress.
