Best Way to Monetize a DIY Product
So, I don't have a list. I don't have a niche web site. I don't have a DIY audience, and honestly don't have the desire to build one up
I accidentally created an awesome DIY digital product.
I created a full set of plans, including a materials list (on a fully programmed spreadsheet), PDFs, Word Docs Sketch-up sources (in 3D), and video walk troughs, for a very sweet elevated club house/play house.
Short version of the story: A friend of mine wanted to give her boys a club house for Christmas but didn't know how to get it under the tree ... I suggested that we make plans and put them under the tree ... so we did.
Anyway, as a result I have a complete set of usable plans suitable for an intermediate level Do-it-yourselfer - you need to be able to saw a straight line, measure a board and hammer a nail. If you can do that, you can probably build this thing.
I have well over 100 hours in the plans. There's no marketing material, no follow up, and I'd need to clean it up so the notes were just a tad less personal. But before I do anything more, I'd want to know what I am going to do with it.
I am thinking about:
1. Offering the files as a PLR product on a WSO.
2. Trying to find a warrior in the DIY niche to JV with.
3. Setting up my own web site and selling it directly.
4. Turning it into an Ebook on Kindle
Any opinions?
