So, I keep seeing TV commercials for free websites, free FB page design and free domains included.

But after 30 days they will delete if you do not like the site or page.

If you keep going with the site or page you pay a monthly fee.

Does anyone know what Web.com or any of these other sites doing this charge as the monthly fee?

Thanks in advance.

I have many of my own sites and build for clients.

I'm asking what these sites are charging as a monthly fee for my own knowledge.

When potential clients say well so-and-so builds sites for free I like to have knowledge of the competition and their fees.

So please no opinions or suggestions.

If you have the knowledge of what these companies are charging I would appreciate that knowledge.

    Thank you in advance again.

If the companies have a fee or charge - that would be listed on their website...right? Or in the terms of service you agree to when you sign up to use that company.

Bingo. Stop being lazy and just read the TOS. It's the only way to get the data you want accurately.

I used to be in that business and found for a basic website, people were charging anywhere between $500 and $2500 USD.

Ask yourself, what is your time worth and how good is your work? Generally, even if your work is good and $500 might seem like good enough money for your time, I would not suggest charging on the low end because it makes you be perceived as low quality.

I always charged on the higher end and stressed the quality they would get from me, which was true. I would also provide a maintenance service for $25/month, which was their hosting fee, plus plugin updates and site monitoring in case the site went down. If it went down, I would restore it.

Charging a monthly fee is a great idea because that will end up being your bread and butter in the long run. Earning residual income on a monthly basis for providing a service they need that does not take much of your time will end up surpassing your fixed fees for developing sites themselves.

Always, always, always try and provide them an affordable monthly subscription that provides them with value. This will go a long way!
