      Ian,

"Information products" is a huge market - way too broad a question for any useable help. Tell us what niche within info products you want.

As Al alluded, it's easy to gather information in a niche market then cut your own CD or DVD. That way, you get a unique, one-of-a-kind product to sell.

I was thinking about the business start up niche , ie how to make money online , how to make a second passive income etc. etc.

But is there anywhere to go to buy off the shelf products such as physical CD/DVD's in this type of market.

I am from the UK and have only found one outlet there for this type of product and to be honest it was pretty crap.

Is there a reputable source to buy this type of thing in the US.

          1. get your digital product
          2. Buy a printer that prints on cd/dvd
          3. burn info onto cd/dvd - they sell white ones that you can print on directly
          4. ship it out

            Or...
            1. Get your digital products (i.e. PLR rights to the best products you can find)
            2. Make them your own by re-branding with your own or your company's name, get new graphics done for CD/DVD covers, etc.
            3. Set your products up with an online service to burn, package, and ship on demand (i.e Kunaki, as just 1 example)
            4. Start selling

It's a "just-in-time" manufacturing model, with low manufacturing/shipping costs incurred only as needed. Customer orders ship in a timely fashion without tying you to the production time schedules. Your order process is tied in electronically from your order processing system to their backend processes so there are no manual steps to impede timely, cost-efficient delivery.

You've described everything very accordingly. Making an unique CD/DVD is way easier now, because there are plenty of information you can from online related to your niche. Just do the researching part wisely and make your own piece of selling information selling product.

Out of interest, ianbradley, why are you preferring going down the route of physical products rather than an online solution?

Because they are perceived to be of a higher value and you are able to charge a much higher price than for a digital product.

      That's the only reason.

Don't underestimate the value of convenience! Online I can access the content practically where-ever I am on a device I *always* have with me without having to carry around a stack of cds and something to play them on. Come to think of it neither my acer laptop nor my macbook even have CD drives. I can also get started right away. That saves me the thing I perceived as of highest value - time! I start when I want to; and for that matter, continue when I want to - building on my first point. Plus I don't have to wait for your product to arrive to see if its crap. And if it is I know I probably won't send it back...so I'm unlikely to buy just in case. But a digital version, I've got all the comfort of knowing I can request a refund if I want to.

    That's my 2 cents anyway.

I'd love to know what other members think though; does anyone prefer a physical copy of something if you're paying over, say, $900?

I think it's good to consider the attention span of your audience in making this type of decision.

Give people an option with the same price: Download now or get it in the mail. Test and track and see which one they go for.
