Which software to create a landing page

23 replies
I just got a small order (she will place it in a couple of days) to create a squeeze page (or landing page however you like to call it). It will have a title, bullets, an image and the optin fields. Her website is WordPress. I would like input on which software to use to create it. As it's a tiny order for just the one page, I don't want to purchase sales funnel creators such as ClickFunnels.

I am considering either Fusion Splash Builder, which I own and have the rights to install on her WordPress website or the old-fashioned HTML pages. I have not yet worked with Fusion Splash Builder, but will do so this weekend. Re HTML, I have a number of PLR templates and used to create these all the time, using Dreamweaver to design them. I think I can just paste HTML into a WP page, but could use input on that. I have access to a programmer if I need help, who knows both WP and HTML.

Any opinions as to what is best for me to do?

(I have attached a grid with a little info about 35 landing page builders, in case you would like it. I use BitDefender virus protector, so it shouldn't have a virus. But always be careful anyway with any download.)

    If you need help setting them up they have videos on youtube. I had some issues doing a slider myself so watching the video walk-through helped a lot. What is in right now are the big headers with vibrant pictures or video as the background so I would go with that. Just make sure it lines up properly with the page.

  • You can just go to one of the outsourcing places and have them make it or get something like optimize press plugin (that's what I use right now)

    Hey Beverly, I highly recommend you check out "funnelKit GO" - just do a Google search.

    It's a Wordpress plugin and I recently bought it.

    As a technotard (yes, I'm that bad) I have to say I'm impressed with the ease of use of this plugin.

    The best part is, you can make pretty much any kind of landing page with it, and it's a one-time fee (or at least when I bought it).

    Regards,
    Daniel

      I would strongly advise against FunnelKitGo. It has bugs out the wazoo. You cannot even use Google Analytics with it so if you use any script codes in it things get messed up and any content pages you make will get wiped out and lost for ever.

      I have tried it on 3 different hosts (yes, I have 3 hosting accounts!) and I get the same results.

      It is apparent to me that the makers of FKG are merely using the product as a way to get your email and spam you. I say spam because ever since I bought it, none of the emails they send me have anything to do about FKG. All they do is send me offers to buy MAKE MONEY NOW products with outrageous claims. One product they are peddling even promotes the use of a competing product to FKG .

      Stay away. I wasted so much time with it, they should have PAID ME to use it

    Beverly,

    IMO, the fastest, cheapest (it's free), easiest way to add a squeeze page to WordPress is to create a totally blank page ... then you can either create or just copy and paste your HTML into that page to create your squeeze copy, images, subscriber form, etc.

    Here's how you create the blank page so there is no header, footer, or anything else on the page - you start with a clean canvas.

    Copy and paste the following six lines of code into Notepad or an HTML editor:

    <?php
    /**
    * Template Name: Blank Page
    */
    the_post(); the_content();
    ?>

    Save the file as "blankpage.php" (no quotes)

    Use your FTP program to find the WP theme you are currently using and upload the "blankpage.php" file you just created to the /wp-content/themes/twentyfifteen folder (or whatever your theme name might be).

    The "blankpage" template will now show up in your "template" dropdown list on the page menu.

    That's all there is to it! Just select that blankpage template and it should appear with nothing on it.

    The best to you.

    If you are mildly proficient in HTML here is what I do:

    1. I use Google Images to find squeeze pages in the niche I like.

    2. Visit the page

    3. Go to Tools - Web Developer - Page Source to view the HTML

    4. If it's not too complicated, I just use or modify the code from there and save it as an HTML file.

    Of course I change the text to suit my purposes. I find the more basic a squeeze page or landing page is, the better it converts.

    Good luck!

    Pagewiz is a good source that you can use to generate some code and then transfer that code to the current project you're working on. Hope you find something that works!

    If you're still interested you can give Ontrapages a try. That's what I'm currently using. They offer free landing page templates, with an option to upgrade if you choose. Could be worth considering.
