Why is your own landing page necessary in affiliate marketing ?

Hello everyone ! I'm tyler this will be my first post of hopefully many in this forum. My question today is in regards to affiliate marketing which im pretty much a newbie in. I wanted to know why it is necessary to make your own landing page, to promote a product that already has one ? Especially if the product already has a steller landing page, what is the added benefit of making your own ?

    It's not necessary, as you said, there are people who make over a thousand a dollars per day with NO LANDING PAGE just by direct linking but it's better to have a landing page or you can A/B a direct link vs. landing page and see what does better.

    You don;'t necessarily need your own..You can use some that others create.

    But if you have your own optin BEFORE you send people to the sales page.. you build a list,
    whether they buy the product or not. Which is a good thing

    If you had some sort of relevant giveaway or lead magnet as I call them you'd get emails onto your list, and then on your thank you page you send people to the product.

      If you are using the landing page to collect leads, the reason is that you want to collect emails regardless of whether or not they buy your product.

      Emails = Goldmine.

      It's on-demand traffic. You can nuture leads with good copywriting. You can turn freebies into buyers etc.

      No matter what happens with FB ads, SEO etc. email leads will most surely always be there when you need them.

      You want to collect them as often as you can. At every turn if possible.

        One of the best ways to succeed with affiliate marketing is to be unique and really pre frame a potential customer.


        Product landing pages are generic, so if you promote them along with 3000 other people having the same lander, your conversions will suck.


        Marketing and making money is about being unique and marketing from a different angle than everyone else. Good luck.

    It typically increases conversions (when done properly)
    It should help presell the visitors on the offer

    Hey Tyler,

    Going along with what Shauny and Patrick both were talking about. I use my own landing pages, and I also use company issued. I prefer using my own when I do paid ads though because with paid traffic I feel that it is more laser targeted traffic that I want to connect with on a real personal level.

    So I will use a landing page with a webcam video of myself to build that rapport. However if you are just starting out and you do not feel comfortable doing that it is fine to use company replicated sites.

    Just know the conversions for your offer will be much lower potentially.

    Well the beauty of having your own personal landing page is that you stand out from other affiliates that are just using the standard landing page. It helps you brand yourself and you get to learn and sharpen your copywriting skills which is very important. Nothing wrong with using company landing pages as well as mentioned above. It really depends on the type of traffic you're working with.

    Landing page is necessay and pretty important ,Without which how will you be able to collect leads and make a massive list ,Yes you can ignore quite a few other things like blog ,videos etc etc but you should have a landing page

    Your landing page is very important to change your visitor into your customer.
    If you optimize it so well, you will see the good result.
    Beside, we need to choose the method you will use to promote your landing page. Maybe Adwords or SEO

    Having your own landing page should be a must have, because you own the client.

    If you drive leads to another landing page, that person will own the client, yes you will make 1 single comission but that's all, if that person buy anything else from it you will not recieve any comission.

    Now, if you own the lead then you can promote to him more products you think the lead may like and still making money with regular clients, building trust and give them huge value in return, that's the real way to do marketing.

    Because you want to build your own list! Most traffic vendors won't let you promote a pre-done landing page anyway.

    But the point is to build your list. You want the subscriber more than the commission because of repeat sales.

    For example...

    How successful would you think Wal - Mart would be if they only sold an item once? No they depend on that SAME person coming back and continue to buy.

    That's why repeat sales are the most important sales you can have. If you don't have repeat sales then you don't have a business. Go in now and start building your list.

    The reason for having my own landing is to own and re-market to the list you are building.

    The average person doesn't buy something the first time they see it, it may take a few contact to establish trust with the person.

    So, you want to build that trust with your contact because it will allow you to market to them in the future.

    In the end you will be marketing "You" to your list. Plus, the owner of the affiliate program you're marketing will also use "your" prospects to market other products or services,why shouldn't you.

    It all depends on where you are getting your traffic. There are some traffic sources that will require you have your 'own' unique landing page.

    However, if your traffic source doesn't need a unique landing page and the 'premade' one that you said is stellar (plus it 'converts' into leads for your own list), then that's good enough.
