I wonder why does Gates have to do a "strange" move at the end of the ad?!:confused:
(and the one before this one).

isn't the "whole commercial" weird enough?

Crispin, Porter & Bogusky is IMO one of the most forward thinking agencies in the world.

I hope to "catch up" to this spot sometime in 2010. :confused:

CP+B have brought many brands back to life. Including Burger King. They're the ones responsible for bringing back the creepy "king", introducing Mini Cooper and the first anti-smoking "Truth" ads.

Here's one thing they do to keep things 'fresh'... On Thursdays, they have an "open mic" office day. Anyone in the company, from mailroom guys to receptionists, can get in line (literally) and pitch ideas for campaigns at the owners. Everyone is heard and no idea is laughed at. That's how they came up with the 'subservient chicken' a few years ago.

I watched this commercial from beginning to end. And actually laughed. If that's not good advertising, I don't know what is. I normally don't acknowledge commercials.

My favorite spot was the BK "Big Cluckin' Chicken" on a dirt bike*. CLASSIC.

If you're right about "damage control" compared to actually trying to sell stuff, I'd totally agree. We'll know as these commercials go on whether or not it's damage control since they will all stay around 2-4:30 minutes long I'd guess.

Well... It's a little better than the 1st try, but a wee bit too long. The quality of the message is better, but still a bit questionable. I still think they need a new ad agency (or creative director)... I don't care how successful the agency was in the past, they're not totaling connecting with the audience as far as the correlation between product/service offered and desire for purchase. JMHO

That's it... I'm giving up all my Mac computers.

That's right. That commercial has convinced me to go back to a PC. I mean it's been exactly 3 years of no viruses (or anti-virus software) 3 years of no spyware, 3 years of no crashes, 3 years of unbelievable speed.

Nope after seeing that commercial I'm going back to a PC. What's the operating system for Windows these days anyway? Right Vista. Maybe I'll just stay with the Mac and OSX a little longer.
