Hello everyone i just came to this site and am i newbie. I just joined hostican, and wanted to start a blog with wordpress on it. I downloaded the wordpress software, but am having hard time figuring out how to open a website under the wordpress software. I am trying to figure out where to go into cpanel as i have heard of before. Thanks in advance

most hosts these days have an auto installer that will install wordpress for you. Look for something called fantastico in your cpanel and it will do the trick for you

Your hosting provider will have given you a login to access your cpanel, so you should review the emails you got from your hosting provider when your account was set up.

They should have given you a link to access it and login details - username and password.

If you've mislaid those details you'll need to either email or call your hosting provider and ask them to re-send them to you.

Once you've got your access to your cpanel (or other control panel if your hosting provider doesn't offer cpanel) then you should be able to set up WordPress via an automatic script installation.

In cpanel it's called Fantastico, but in other systems it will have other names. What you're looking for is the automatic script installation link (or 1-click installation link).

Once you've got WordPress installed you'll need to configure it - and I've put a link below to a free tutorial that will take you through that process, step-by-step:

HostICan has Fantastico so you should be able to automate Wordpress from your Cpanel.
