I Need to Turn a Book Into Audio

Hey Warriors,

I need to get a 215 page book turned into audio. I also need a 32 page book turned into audio as well.

Does anyone know the best place to get this done or someone who will do a good job for me?

I am looking more for quality than for price, but inexpensive + good quality would be great. It doesn't have to be amazing, just good.

I appreciate your help!

Shawn

Uh...seriously? I could have sworn I said QUALITY. Would you want to listen to Microsoft Sam speaking a 215 page book?

@nicholasb I have way better things to do that make me more money than turning a book into audio myself. I just don't have time to do it.

Thank you all...I am going through my PMs and looking through people's suggestions. If I don't like what I have been offered I'll check out the Warriors for Hire and branch out from there.

      Thanks for your help!

If you are looking to outsource this project you can check out the "Warriors For Hire" thread on this site or use a site like Elance, Digital Point or Sologig to post a job and get bids.

go to guru.com or elance.com you can find people who do voice over work there, or you can do it yourself in audacity

with audacity you can change the tone and pitch of your voice to sound more professional audacity is free, but you will need a mic

My assistant Megan does good voiceovers.

I am not sure if it's what you are after but check her WSO thread here:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...oice-over.html

She can do the narration for your book. send an email to megan@yourbrainmedia.com with the number of words and she can quote you.

    Good luck!

I would advise knowing the number of words you are needing, rather than pages, obviously some font sizes are bigger than others, but with words you should be able to get quotes pretty easily

    Good luck

My dad does voice work. He's been on radio (for the blind) for quite a while and recently started voiceover stuff. I don't know if I'm allowed to post a link to his voice123 profile here, so PM me if you're interested.

He has a degree in biology and spent 30 years in mechanical engineering (and now is an IT guy) so he's really good with words that some people find tricky.

    Shawn, checkout www.scottwoodside.com.

Scott is a Warrior who did the voiceover of a non-IM book for me and did a really, really great job.

If you're after something of really professional quality, check out www.voice123.com it's like elance but just for voice over artists. I spent $800 getting a 20,000 word ebook done and that was cheap. Most people there will probably charge a couple of grand.

This is where I would go (and do go). Pricing has come down lately, as more and more people have the technology to do this and the business is changing. Because of this, there are a lot of amateurs on there. That can be good or bad, depending on who you pick and what you need.

SHAWN - Don't look any further outside this forum before you check out the PM I just sent you. I am a professional voice artist AND an internet marketer, so I have huge empathy for internet marketers' needs and budgets. I recently introduced myself in this thread,

        http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...alk-money.html

I have already recorded ebooks and video commentary for warriors James Penn, John Taylor, and Capativated Marketing, (feel free to pm them to ask about me) and I am now seriously preparing to start offering my services regularly to Warriors.

        cheers Ken

I say get a USB mic and record it yourself with Audacity free software. Then it's in your voice and done the way you want it. Yes, it'll take some time, but not that much, really.

      Hope that helps!

    Hey everyone,

Thank you for all the offers. And for those suggesting I do it myself, I can make more money doing other things, and my voice isn't that great (just trust me - I think there is one video of me on the internet and there's a reason for that).

Scott, I would've loved to work with you, but I already accepted an offer a few days ago. However, if I need any books done in the future, I will definitely contact you!

Thanks again all, I appreciate all the choices I was offered!
