I had sex all over my squeeze page...
So here's the deal...
I just got done with a test of 10 variations of a squeeze page.
I had nine specific variations I wanted to test, and decided to throw in a "wild" variation just for fun. So I wrote a paragraph full of words normally associated with sex and placed it at the bottom of the page. (The site has nothing to do with sex, dating or anything close...)
My thought was it would probably close pretty low--maybe even the lowest of the 10--but it would make a good story.
Out of the 10 squeeze pages, guess which one came out numero uno? Yup, the sexy squeeze page. How effective was it? How about 83% conversion.
The average of all the pages was 44%, just to give you a point of comparison.
Now keep in mind I didn't put on the page "leave your name and email an someone will show up at your door for a night of passion." Instead I just described the subscribe incentive using words normally associated with sex.
Also keep in mind I don't have stats on how valuable the subscribers are who came from the various squeeze pages. It's possible the long-term value of the 10 subscribers who came through one of the 44% pages is the same as 20 subs who came through the sexy one. But I suspect just the shear numbers mean that getting twice the subscribes should mean more money.
We'll see.
