There are a lot of Facebook MLM groups claiming that they are earning $3k per month is this true? Should I join?

I wouldn't join for that reason alone. It's actually not much at all for a good MLM upline. Instead, I would be looking to join under someone who has a duplicatable system making that much per day.

Think about it ... of course that's what they're going to say ... they are in the business of recruiting people to join their own downline.

IMO, very few people are cut out for this kind of business. Maybe you are, I don't know, but I personally believe there are a lot better business models for most people just starting out.

I would say no. A lot of those people are pretty much just spammers.

Maybe, maybe not. Is this where your heart is? Is an MLM program something that you want to stake your potential retirement income with at the end of the day?

You should also know that most MLM's program marketing strategy for you SUCKS.

I mean the way that they want you to market their program is usually horrible.

This is my personal opinion. If you go the MLM route you better be a darn good salesperson! What your expected to invest in is a concept, nothing really tangible and unless your really good at sales I would not recommend that route. Also, if your that good at sales, I still wouldn't recommend it, because if your that good at sales, you will make a killing with an actual product or service without any of the grief.

It is true, there are a few that can make a killing in MLM, but the keyword is a "FEW".

I recommend finding something real, something tangible to sell, a product or a service. There are millions out there .....

    Here's something you should consider.

While it's certainly possible to build an MLM online, that is best done through attraction marketing.

Those people who feel the need to plaster income claims to attract would-be recruits clearly do NOT understand attraction marketing, so it would make very little sense to join their downline.

Do your research on attraction marketing and you'll see why you should not give a rat's rear end when it comes to their income claims.

    Regards,
    Daniel

They are doing that just for the sake of recruiting new prospects without providing any proper value. Anybody in MLM industry can post such a claim, but there is no guarantee in it. Not to say that if they earn that much, you will earn that much too.

To have that kind of result, do you think how much they have spent their time and money into their business? I don't think the claimer himself reach that figure yet. Maybe they are newbies that becoming over excited with the program they just join, and do claim as such. In reality, there are too much HYPE (high yield promising earning) going on the internet nowadays..

Do you mean the facebook groups where everyone is 'spamming' the discussion board just to drop their affiliate links in only 'hoping' someone will click on their ads?

    What do yo honestly think?

Of course their are people making that kind of money online in various niches, however I don't think they are just dropping links all over the place hoping to make a sale.

However, here is what an actual result looks like...this was taken from a facebook group that was put together by one of those Do it yourself systems that a whole bunch of people have been knocking on this forum:

From just over 9 hours ago from me posting here now:

How do I know this is a real proof of income?

Because I get the same 'notifications' from our payment processors.

This group is a 'Closed' Group for members (existing customers). Brian and other members share results here because it helps the new members with 'belief and social proof'.

Judge it or critique it, this is one of many 'real time' results.

    Oh, I forgot to mention...

Brian (guy above that posted his income proof in our closed group) is a Retail Store Manager with a wife and two kids who live in the LA area.

He didn't make $3K yet however he is gaining momentum in his business.

    How?

By creating traffic and get this...

List building PLUS he is most likely working his butt off in his part time (when not at work at his full time job).

Yes evil MLM money with 'multiple' tier payouts.

Does that mean everyone who joins is going to make Big Bucks?

If people just join and don't do anything 'consistently' to help themselves move forward in their business, they won't make jack $hit.

MLM can be a great business model depending on the product. However, I have yet to see anyone create sustainable income from strictly promoting MLM online. MLM is a relationship business and in order to continue to make money you need to sign people up and convince them to pay every month. You also need to be able to spend time with your sign ups to help them learn how to find and convert leads and so on. This seems increasingly hard to do online. Any decent MLM company that is going to be around for a while has at least one of two things: A kick butt compensation plan and/or a kick butt consumable product.

However, if I decided to join and promote my MLM business online, I would make something beneficial to your "team" or "downline". These are the people that are going to ultimately make you more money (depending on your specific MLM company's compensation plan). I would make exclusive training videos that explain how you set up and market the business and offer a forum for everyone on your team to meet and exchange ideas (i.e. a private Facebook group). Once these are set up, make review videos for the specific MLM company you are in and post them to youtube explaining that if they join using your link, they get exclusive bonus training videos and free membership to your "Facebook mastermind group".

Again, I'm not crazy about online MLM but thats what I would do if I decided to get involved. Another idea is to make general training videos or an ebook about marketing online for MLM and include affiliate links for tools that will make it easier for them. (such as toolsstar or other auto group posters, autoresponders, etc) and sell your ebook and/or videos to all online MLMers. Think of it as being the guy selling pick axes and shovels to prospectors during the gold rush instead of being caught up in the gold fever yourself.

My 2 cents anyway. Good luck to you.

We are 'Online Marketers guys. Remember? Your business is YOU INC, not some MLM, System, Click Bank Product ETC.

Anyone who believes their real business is a product of some kind will struggle for a long time and probably end up quitting.

However, I have yet to see anyone create sustainable income from strictly promoting MLM online.
You make a 'sustainable' income online by promoting yourself, your content, your blog, your lead capture pages but most importantly...

Your 'Value' to the Market Place

      MLM is a relationship business
Isn't Online Marketing in general a 'relationship' based business?

and in order to continue to make money you need to sign people up and convince them to pay every month.
      Bad Advice.

You should never try to 'convince' anyone to do anything. Let them decide for themselves.

You also need to be able to spend time with your sign ups to help them learn how to find and convert leads and so on.
I agree. This is what it means to 'give value' What's wrong with helping people learn and get results. Teach a man to fish and he / she can feed themselves for life!

This seems increasingly hard to do online.
Is there some 'magic' way to make money online that I am not aware of? Everything about Internet Marketing is increasingly hard.

And that is the main reason why a very small percentage become successful Online in any niche.

Any decent MLM company that is going to be around for a while has at least one of two things: A kick butt compensation plan and/or a kick butt consumable product.
Kick Butt comp plan is needed. Yes. You must be able to make a 'direct' commission from every product that you ever sell. You need something that puts at least a 50% commission into your pocket per sale (without having to rely on other people AKA...downline.

However, the products don't have to be 'consumable'. I am a lover of Digital Products.

However, if I decided to join and promote my MLM business online, I would make something beneficial to your "team" or "downline". These are the people that are going to ultimately make you more money (depending on your specific MLM company's compensation plan). There is absolutely nothing wrong with this just as long as you 'actually' have enough experience to do this. That is a lot of work and the majority of people who attempt this usually don't have enough experience or results online.

I am not saying that You don't have enough experience. Maybe you do.

      However...

I would suggest instead for new people using any system in any niche to pick a system with all these 'working' pieces 'already' in place to start training your people.

Again, I'm not crazy about online MLM but thats what I would do if I decided to get involved. Another idea is to make general training videos or an ebook about marketing online for MLM and include affiliate links for tools that will make it easier for them. Think of it as being the guy selling pick axes and shovels to prospectors during the gold rush instead of being caught up in the gold fever yourself.
Again...isn't this another way to 'give value' to the very people who are paying you?

You should be giving value in 'any' niche not just MLM.

My 2 cents anyway. Good luck to you.
Luck has nothing to do with becoming successful online.

    I thought you were a self-made entrepreneur!?
To answer your question: NO it's not true and NO you shouldn't believe or join those groups. People say what they gotta say in order to make the sale. So of course these groups and people would claim that they're successful. They need you to believe their BS in order to fleece you.

There are a lot of "everyone" making similar claims. The same rules apply.

    Should I join?
    Yes. No. Maybe? IDK!

If you want recurring commissions based on a "Matrix" you don't require a "traditional" MLM.

Multi-Level Marketing is generally associated with bullshit "products" which you are required to buy to qualify for commissions. The only reason said products exist is to fulfill the legal requirements.

I participate in multi-tier affiliate programs. The products are something people need. The "matrix" compensates affiliates for recruiting new affiliates.

The above may sound the same but they are not even close. Don't look at the compensation plan, look at the product or service being promoted. If recruiting new members is the main money maker, you will be disappointed. It's nearly impossible to keep them involved.

If a needed product or service is the MM you have a much better chance of retaining people you recruit and making money.

90% of the members are lying. I won't waste your time in them. Focus on your circle of influence instead.

While I believe the success of a network marketer is tied to both online and offline methods, I fail to see the difference in success/failure rates of mlm verses small businesses.

In each, you have a small percentage that make it big. An x percentage that get by and a large percentage that close up shop.

When you consider that even if you put in a monthly order, that cost for the entire year is probably under $2,000 and if you have stopped spending on similar products you might actually be even for the year. Where else can you start a business, qualify for commissions for a year at this price?

Now it's certainly not for everyone, but neither is being a lawyer, a doctor, an insurance salesman or a real estate broker to name a few.

Tactics are bad at times in many fields of business and obviously mlm is no exception, but if 50-60 years is any indication mlm is here to stay and in my opinion can be a great way to build retirement, college and many other funds with the right mindset in place.
