Can I get some ideas...

Hello all...

Ok guys/gals... I am trying to find a a niche where it fits the following criteria:

1. Evergreen
2. People come back to my site (i.e TV shop sells TV, someone comes and buys a TV, they are unlikely to come back... so don't want something where it's a one time use)
3. Monetize through other various means...

Also interestingly... what sites do you visit and why?

How much research have you done via the search tab ? a lot of people wont reply because you have not shown what you have done or where you have looked !

Thanks for responding... I have done a fair bit of research via the search tab and cannot find too much info.

I am a little confused at the moment... I looked at this and done IM niche and sort of know where I went wrong... I do not have shiny object syndrome anymore... I sort of know of needs to be done... but by discussing and hearing other people's idea's inputs... it may help me in my direction where I want to go.

What you've given us is so general that our answers could be anything. Any niche could have all these characteristics if you position your business correctly.

      Hi Steve...

I see many people making many mistakes and just wanting to make a quick buck rather than look at the bigger picture... I am looking to do something niche, but evergreen and authority - maybe technology wise?

        Start small.

Find or create something that many people need all the time.
Set up your site around that and fulfill the order yourself or outsource it.

Focus on building up sales and then expand.

The best method would be to create something for others that will then help you expand to other areas. Smile!

          Hi Professorrosado,

This is what I am after... "many people need all the time"... it might be so simple and so obvious and so in front of my face.... I just cannot envisage this bit and also I am over complicating things, which might not be helping.

This is a perfect example of maybe what not to do: (in my eyes anyway)

How to Build a Niche Site That Brings in at Least $500/Month

So one year on and the website, his idea, HDR Software is not working.

It's called "porn". Niche selection problem solved.

Also interestingly... what sites do you visit and why?
I used to watch porn. AVN, naughty america, etc. Now that i have a girl.... the stuff is useless to me now. Why visit online sites for women when i have a walking woman who looks like a porn star - already in my life?

Holy Cow, I think we are all missing the point here! If you do it right, if you do it right, once you have a customer, you have a customer for LIFE!

Don't expect him or her to come back to you, you go back to him or her, PERIOD.

How can we make this happen? Well I don't care if your niche is evergreen or not, what is important here is when you make that first sell you do one of two things:

    1. Get your customers name and e-mail
    OR
    2. Get your customers e-mail at least!

This is why we have autoresponders! Once you have their e-mail you use the autoresponders to contact your new customers again and again with new offers, maybe better offers, or maybe offers to compliment the original product they purchased and so on.

The whole key here is getting the first sale, after that the customer is yours baby! So, what you need to do is concentrate on getting that first sell and then loading your autoresponders with more ammo to get more sales.

I advise you to get some help on the use of autoresponders .....

Steve pretty much answered the rest of your post with his answer, so I'll answer this last part.

I visit sites in my niches (mostly blogs and forums) because:

    - I get inspiration for content ideas for my content marketing.

    - Learning more about the audience/market you serve is always a good thing; it makes everything else easier.

    Regards,
    Daniel
